I was sad, but then filled with curiosity: They had bags in their hands. They must be staying here. That’s probably the surprise. Once everyone was settled in, I took a hot shower and put on my clothes. After about an hour of people showering, we all piled in a car and pulled off to Six Flags.
She decided on Princess, of course, for the little girl, Butterpickle and Chango for the twins, and Liner for the oldest boy. The children were thrilled. “One more thing,” she asked, “can we have my favorite food to celebrate? It is hot chocolate with two marshmallows and a dollop of whipped cream.” The children shouted all together, “YUM!” And so it began- the friendship that would last a life time of adventures. The four children and Gingledorf made the very best team of them
In the Poem “Oranges” by Gary Soto the theme of the piece is, to sacrifice for others in the name of love is worth everything you have. the theme of the story, though, is improved upon by literary devices. The first literary device present in the poem is Simile. The simile helps compare the items in the story that the main character talks about or saw while in the Drugstore with his girl on the date. While going through the store he comes across candies that were “tiered like bleachers”( Soto, 26), there were so many choices and his girl picked out the chocolate on one of the shelves, although what she picked out was more expensive than he thought and couldn’t afford it.
Once everyone had taken their practice walkthrough, we were seated again and told the do’s and don’ts of graduation night. I then left graduation rehearsal to go get my nails and makeup done. After the last few touches were done I rushed home to get dressed and drop off the tickets. I arrived downtown around 5:15p.m. As I entered the building all I could think of was “This is the moment that I have wait me entire life for”.
The beautiful, small ice skating rink I had always seen in movies and the grand Christmas tree lit up for all to see. I could only admire from afar, but then I thought, “Mom once mentioned how she wanted to roller-skate again. Maybe by learning to roller-skate, I will be able to ice skate.” With this idea in mind, I was excited as was my mom when I asked her if we could buy roller skates. She gave me the biggest smile and drove us to Dick’s Sporting Goods where I bought a pair of black and yellow four-wheel roller skates. Roller-skating is training wheels on a bike compared to ice skating.
Switching Places One day everything was normal, but when I woke up it was completely different. This is because one night I saw a shooting star and wished what every kid would wish for, being out of school. That same night my dad wished to be back in school. That is why I am writing this story. The next day I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and went to the bathroom, got dressed and it didn’t occur to me that I was someone else.
Dairy Dream was just across the street with the delicious smell of hot chocolate fudge and the nose tingling scent of vanilla ice cream that filled the air. Every now and then we would walk over there and get some ice cream. I would always get the rainbow shaved ice which made me delirious every time I ate it.
Donuts Don’t Lie by: Angela Wilkinson Mom was in the kitchen making a grocery list while Dad and Tay-Tay were in the family room. Dad was watching sports on T.V. and Tay-Tay was playing with his toys, secretly daydreaming of powdered donuts. He tasted them for the first time at his daycare yesterday afternoon. He just can’t stop thinking about those powdered donuts that melt in your mouth.
My whole body was paralyzed and at that moment I was convinced that I was going to die. Daunting thoughts began to swell within my head and the yearning to cry was only thriving as the minutes passed. Sleeping had become a struggle ever since my parents had announced their divorce two months prior. Dealing with the consistent fighting of my parents during the day was enough to make me want to sleep eternally at night. However, after experiencing sleep paralysis for the first time I was then introduced to the enchanting world of lucid dreaming.

On June 17, my left neck and back got congested and the symptom worsened after I took shower at night. I could not put my clothes on and dry myself that day. Also, I could not even sit up in bed and move so I went to Central Acupuncture (acupuncture and oriental clinic) next day to relieve the pain. Until last week, I could not lift my left arm. I 'm doing much better now but I haven 't been sick like
It was 8:07, Saturday morning, when I awoke to an insufferable rapping on my door. I tried to ignore it, and sleep, but the knocking persisted. This went on for no less than thirty minutes, until, it suddenly stopped. The abrupt silence was unnerving. I sat up in my bed, wondering if they had finally given up, and gone away.
