At the crime scene, there was multiple pieces of evidence that may lead to figuring out if Anna Garcia’s manner of death was natural, homicide, or an accident. The evidence found at the scene includes fingerprints, blood, a shoeprint, hair, an unknown substance, and blood spatter. One of the multiple pieces of evidence that was found at the crime scene was a fingerprint. The fingerprint was tested and proven to belong to Alex Garcia, her ex-husband. We know this because the fingerprint that was found at the crime scene matches the ridge patterns on Alex’s fingerprint exactly. The ridge pattern category for both the fingerprint at the crime scene and Alex Garcia’s fingerprint is a tented arch. However, Alex met Anna at her house the night …show more content…
Our results were limited because both Anna Garcia and Erica Piedmont’s blood clumped with the Anti-A serum and did not clump with the Anti-B serum, we did not have accurate results. However, due to further DNA testing using gel electrophoresis, we discovered that the blood belonged to Anna. Since there wasn’t much blood on the floor near the body, we can conclude that she hit her head after she had died. At the crime scene, a muddy shoe print was found. The shoe print appeared to have semi-circular spots on the bottom. These circular spots matched the semi-circular spots that were also on the bottom of Anna’s shoes. Since Anna’s shoe print was muddy, we can conclude that she was outside somewhere before she died. It was reported by her neighbor that she often took her dog for walks outside. Using this information, Anna may have died shortly after returning from her daily walk with her dog. One of the pieces of evidence at the crime scene was hair that was caught around a hair tie. The hair tie was found with hair caught in it and lying next to Anna Garcia’s body. A microscope was used to compare the hair that was found at the scene to Anna’s hair and other suspects. After looking at and comparing each suspect’s hair, I was easily able to conclude that the hair belonged to Anna Garcia. The hair that was found at the crime scene perfectly matched Anna Garcia’s
After a detailed comparison, the sole of Anna’s shoes matched the footprint found at the crime scene. We completed a blood spatter analysis which told us that Anna was struck/ blood fell from a height similar to the height of the table. So we can make the assumption that Anna hit her head on the table causing the bleeding on her head. Another thing we did was a DNA analysis using gel electrophoresis. The restriction enzymes cut at the same places at Anna Garcia’s DNA samples as the DNA samples found at the crime scene, therefore the DNA located at the scene belong to Anna.
A. Re Opening Statements: The Prosecution has the job of proving that the defendant, Jordan Bratton committed murder in the first degree by killing the victim, Preston Balmen. The evidence that they have which supports their case is as follows. The police found that there were tire tracks behind Preston Balmen’s house, which matched the tires on Jordan Bratton’s car: a maroon 1990’s Buick Century. It was determined by a medical examiner that Preston Balmen had been strangled to death with a cord-like object and that a microphone cord found in Jordan Bratton’s car is most likely the weapon that was used to strangle the victim. The examiner also determined by the way the victim was strangled, that the suspected murderer stood at a similar
In the wake of testing six different substances with three different pointers, we presumed that the obscure substance was headache medicine such as, Aspirin. The hair found at the crime scene had a place with Anna; this was found via painstakingly looking at every person of interest's' hair under a magnifying instrument and contrasting them with the hair found at the crime scene. The fingerprint on the bottle of the drink was Alex Garcia's and this was figured out by recognizing every person of interest's' sort of fingerprint and the fingerprint found at the crime scene coordinated Alex's. The sloppy shoe print that was at the crime scene has a place with Anna's
She claims she returned to the victim residence the next morning to ask Smith for his assistance starting her car. When he did not answer, she entered the unlocked residence and found the victim deceased at the bottom of the back steps. There is no indication of forced entry; although, the body was found face up and the lividity on the victim’s face and chest indicate he died face down. The victim died at approximately 12:30 am on June 12, 2012, due to blunt force trauma to the back of the head and a broken neck as result of suspicious
#2 Name of case: 1977 Cold Case Murder Solved by a Hair Victim: James Anagnos Suspect: Frank Wright Impact of hair: A hair was found in the victim's hand and was tested and matched to the hair of Frank Wright. However, Wright passed away in 2002 which was before they ruled him as the murderer. #3 Name of Case: DA says fiber evidence
In the case of "accidental link", a deaf lady formed an innocent amity with another woman, however, she had a highly territorial, jealous ex. As the case unfolded the forensic pathologist determined the cause of death proved to be blunt force injury, Combined Deoxyribonucleic acid index system, also known as "CODIS" allowed forensic scientist to take samples from the garment found in the dumpster, (the exact place they found her lifeless remains), and compare the blood spatter found on the outside of the garment, forensic scientist were able to link that to the victims Deoxyribonucleic acid, then they to samples from the inside of the garment, in addition, scientist linked the Deoxyribonucleic acid to the perpetrator. The primary crime scene,
Imagine being being a young child on Halloween who is deciding on a costume, “I’m going to be a witch today.” This is an acceptable change of identity that most can identify with. Now, imagine stealing someone’s identity as an adult and using it until death. The new identity is used so much that the real person that everyone knew disappears along with all of their history. Anna Anderson, born on December 18, 1886, attempted to jump off a bridge in Berlin, Germany in the year of 1920.
Mr. Miller should be found guilty of second degree murder for murdering his wife, Mrs. Miller. There are many inconsistencies in his story as well as evidence supporting that he murdered his wife. Mr. Miller called the police at 6:02pm saying his wife screamed at 5:35pm and found her face down in the grass. If that is the case, then what did Mr. Miller do in the half hour before calling the police? When the police got there they heard him unlock the back door which would be unlocked from Mrs. Miller running out back.
In September of 1961, a woman from District of Columbia had an intruder break into her apartment. While the invader of the home was there, they had taken her wallet, and also raped the woman. During the investigation of the crime, the police had found some latent fingerprints in the apartment. The police then established and processed the prints. The prints were then connected back to 16 year old Morris A. Kent.

The security guard notified the cops about what he had found. After her body was transported to the County Medical Examiner’s Office who later ruled Amber’s death a homicide. The cause of death was “cut wounds to the throat.” There was storm that occurred that same evening that caused the creek to rise rapidly causing Amber’s body to move as well. This effected any evidence that was left on Amber’s body that could have been helpful in discovering the person responsible for her abduction and murder.
The Richard Ramirez "Night Stalker" case was one of the first major cases to use automated fingerprinting technology (Frese, 2011). Today, the fingerprinting database gives various probable identifications, then a trained fingerprint expert must compare the prints to find a likely identification. Considering that Ramirez's prints were found on the mirror of a stolen vehicle we can conclude that his fingerprints were two-dimensional, therefore the prints are termed as latent or residue prints. The authorities at the crime scene power-dusted his prints considering that is the best physical method for collecting fingerprints. Once analyzed using the ACE-V (analysis, comparison, evaluation and verification) method, the fingerprint expert was able to identify them as belonging to Ramirez.
Hair- Case #1 The year was 1985 in Springfield, Massachusetts, a 78 year old women had been sexually assaulted and burglarized allegedly by George Perrot, who was 17 at the time of the incident. There was a single hair found on the bed sheet of the victim that could have been from the suspects head or pubic area due to the sexual assault. Lab analysis was done only looking at the medulla, the cortex, and the cuticle of the hair. In court, the FBI agent proclaimed “The hair found on the sheet exhibits all the same microscopic hair arranged in the same way as the characteristics present in the known hair from Perrot”.
To start off with is the DNA samples, on the nightshirt which was saliva. They couldn’t analyze the DNA at that time because the technology didn’t exist. To expand on it there was DNA on the nightshirt but they couldn’t analyze with the technology back then. Next piece of evidence are the bite marks. Furthermore the bite marks on Sabina were analyzed by two different analyst.
There was multiply evidence that, traced back to O.J. Simpson. His blood was recovered and fingerprints were local on the back fence. Later they found his hair in a knit hat at the crime scene, which the same kind of fiber was found on Goldman’s clothing. Fibers from simpson’s car were also similar to the knit hat. In his vehicle, he had blood from both victims and a pair of bloody socks in his house, along with the right glove that was missing from the crime scene.
