Nursing is a profession that can be challenging nowadays because nurses will be seeing patient or career’s expectation of services that cannot be met with existing resources. As a graduated nurse leader currently working at one of the government hospitals in Malaysia under the Female Medical Ward, the job can be both advantageous and challenging at the same time. Good communication is very important between nurses and their patients as it will lead to a successful outcome of nursing care of each patient. Besides, communication between the nurses has never been more crucial as well.
The two competencies addressed in this paper are Inter-professional Collaboration and Patient Centered Care. Following are discussions surrounding these competencies, concepts, terms, and relationships to theory. By addressing the role of nursing in shaping these areas, attention was focused on historical components, professional value. attitudes, and documentation based in evidence. The current areas that are influential in healthcare, such as political, financial, on a national and international levels were inspected.
Hospitals can be quite a busy surrounding and nurses need to pay attention, take in and apply large amounts of information and instructions in order to apply everything correctly. It is used to minimize mistakes or misunderstandings as well as to self evaluate and identify your skills. The benefits that nurses get out of contributing themselves with these skills is to also become more aware and comfortable about yourself and your work. To also be more successful, have a better understanding and creates a new perspective of critical and reflective thinking. '' The advantages that this technique provides is the constant update of professional skills, identify strengths and areas of opportunity for enhancement, considering ways they interact with patients and colleges and the aim to become self aware and self directing and in touch with their work environment''
• Assessment: Nurses often feel uninformed when changes are made. Not being made aware of important changes can affect patient care. • Nursing Diagnosis: Communication breakdown due to ineffective delivery of new changes related to patient care. • Goal setting: Implement an education book that is placed near the nurse 's station and nurses are responsible to read the changes and sign off when they have read it. • Evaluation: Nurses are better informed and are up to date with new
TRAINING: DEVELOPMENT: Training is the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competencies as a result of teaching. Training is a program organized by the organization to develop knowledge and skills in the employees as per the requirement of the job. Development teaches how to become more productive and effective at work and at the company. Since Tesco aims to expand and diversify, that required the business to select the right people, in the right place, because customers’ needs and wants are different and the culture of each area varies. Reflective Practice Nursing is part of healthcare system and this is a continuous changing environment becoming more demanding, the technology require knowledge and continuously adherence to all Health system requirements as nursing is a lifelong learning process. However , reflective practice is a driveway not only for personal development but also for team work with the purpose to improve care and to blend theory with practice( Jasper 2013). As part of Revalidation, the NMC(2015) require that all nurses must provide evidence that are using reflective practice as part of the process of maintaining their registration in order to remain fit for practice, to promote professionalism and to demonstrate a good understanding and an ongoing development.
It includes the promotion of health, the prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disabled and dying people” (WHO, 2018). This means that nurses care for both those who are sick and unable to care for themselves, healthy people, and the dead. One of the duties of the nurse is to educate the patient and public. As such nurses also go into the communities to create awareness on recent developments and how to manage our environment to prevent the inhabitants from becoming sick. Nursing to me is showing that love; care and compassion to those in need.
Importance of nurses A nurse is a health care professional who is engaged in the practice of nursing. Nurses are men and women who are responsible (along with other health care professionals) for the treatment, safety and recovery of acutely or chronically ill or injured people, health maintenance of the healthy, and treatment of life-threatening emergencies in a wide range of health care settings. Nurses may also be involved in medical and nursing research and perform a wide range of non-clinical functions necessary to the delivery of health care. Nurses develop a plan of care, sometimes working collaboratively with physicians, therapists, the patient, the patient 's family and other team members.
