Analysis
The novel and the movie “The Da Vinci Code” share the same story line but there are few scenes in the movie that deviates from the novel which may or may not be necessary.
Here are the deviations of the movie from the novel:
1. In the novel Robert Langdon is asleep in his Paris Hotel Room when he is awakened by a phone call from the police. They are in need of Langdon’s help, whereas in the movie Langdon has finished a lecture and his signing some autographs when he is approached Police seeking for his help.
Interpretation: This deviation was to make the scene more dramatic.
2. In the novel Fache suspects, Langdon is accountable for Sauniere’s

In the Novel Robert and Sophie are leaving the louvre when he deciphers the anagram of the Mona Lisa. Sophie goes back and Langdon soon follows. Sophie decipher the Madonna of the rocks and finds the key. The police get there and stop them, but they manage to escape. She doesn’t show Robert the key until they are in the car and they both know what the key is as they had previously spoke about it , where as in the movie Robert and Sophie work together to solve the anagram of the Mona Lisa , then the Madonna of the Rocks and Sophie finds the key which she doesn’t know is a key yet. Then they escape together before the police got there.
Interpretation: This deviation was made to make the movie compact.
4. In the Novel Andre Vernet is an old friend of Jaques Sauniere . When he learns Sophie Is his granddaughter , he offers to sneek her and Robert out. When Vernet learns of Sauniere’s death and that Sophie is a suspect, he tries to protect the box from Sauniere’s alleged killers. Where as in the movie Andre Vernet offers help as a service for the customers. He is not friends with the curator. He wants to steal the box for personal gain.
Interpretation: Again this deviation was made to make the movie

In the novel there are two cryptexes: They open the first one on Teabing’s plane. After that they find a smaller cryptex in which they open with a word ‘APPLE’, where as in the movie there is only one cryptex which they open with the word ‘APPLE’ which is found inside a box.
Interpretation: This deviation was made because it is not possible to have one cryptex inside the other, this is because the cryptex is originally designed to carry messages written on papyrus not carry another cryptex. The director used a more logical thinking in this
In my opinion there are a lot of comparisons between the film and the book, but there are also differences between them too, but also they have impacted the audience in both the film and the
After reading and watching, Devil’s Arithmetic, there were many apparent things that were very different from the book to the movie. The names of characters, how people lost their lives, and other things were changed when the movie was written. But, the overall themes and feelings of the characters were they same in both formats of the story. Devil’s Arithmetic, written by Jane Yolen that was later turned into a movie in 1999, was centered around Hannah Stern, a young Jewish girl who is sick of remembering.
Furthermore, the elimination of specific significant context during the movie such as, the non-existent symbolism and the lacking in the department of character development allows the audience to create a reason to question the purpose of this movie. The changes made to this movie adaptation has the effect of producing an extremely dry storyline while representing the characters as a two-dimensional person rather than a three-dimensional character. After all the changes were made, the lesson that is a part of A Separate Peace is no longer as deep and meaningful. Even though the message still vaguely appears in the movie, it does not give the same impression as in the novel. This leads to the viewers to not feel a connection and empathize with the characters.
I will also use evidence from the packet which contained questions we had answered that already discuss a little bit about the comparisons and contrasts between the movie and the novel. I intend to use this information, and prove my point, by using the
Freedom of poverty and individual rights ultimately what Mexican-American cultures strive to obtain in earlier times, according to Viramontes. Although this contains accuracy to an extent, today’s Hispanic American culture fight against stereotypes and hidden oppression of full individual rights. Remedification of potential and hard work is dismissed in this novel, due to Mexican-American’s job status and minimal education. This oppression often leaves Mexican-Americans to keep living in this lifestyle, obvlious to keep working and hopefully achieve grounds to move out of poverty. In the novel, Under the Feet of Jesus, Helena Maria Viramontes emphasizes the physical labor Estrella and her family go through, and how this work reshapes their
They met up in the square where they see a Eurasian prisoner being tortured by a crowd of people. She gives Winston directions to a place where they can meet instructing him to take a train. Winston and the girl meet in the country their they make love and he tells her the more party members she been with the more he loves her because that would indicate more party member are committing crimes also. Over the next couple of weeks, they arrange times to meet up in the city at a rendezvous in a church. Julia tells Winston about herself and unlike him she is not interested in rebelling the party.
The conclusion of ‘’The Box’’, is that in the end, it's about being judged for your decisions when those judging you already know how you will respond, and therefore, you should be responsible for your decision. This is a Bible paradox and it's being played out in the movie.
Although the plot has the same ending in both the book and the movies, the actual ending moments of each pieces of them are different in several ways. The movie ends with a flashback but the book ends with a dialogue and a line. Of Mice and Men ends with the death of Lennie by his best friend, George. The author built up towards it with several things lennie and george did for a tragic end since the beginning of the story. Like Lennie's trouble in Weed, his petting of the dead mouse, and his killing of the puppy have kind of shown flashes of his killing of Curley's wife.
Winston and Obrien have a weird eye connection in the beginning of the book. Julia- Julia and Winston have a secret affair. Winston and Julia Rebel against Big Brother together. Mr. Charrington- Seems to support Winston’s rebellion against the Party and his relationship with Julia. He also rents Winston a room without a television.
In the story, the box is symbol for the powers of the traditions and fear. These two symbols are connected for the reason that the black box represents death and the slips represents the possibility of life or death.
The box or chest is simply drawers and cabinets and boxes that contain the makeup and age defying “potions”. They hold the things that make people more beautiful in the eyes of society and cover up the ugliness. The medicine given to people has a list of ingredients that was written by doctors, which is written in a different code that only people in that industry understand. Men scrape and lacerate their faces because they have to shave them. When women go to the hair salon they sometimes have to put their heads under a dome that heats and dries your hair.
After a cautiously planned meeting initiated by Julia, they started to see each other more often in secret. Over time, a romantic relationship started to develop, not solely based on physical and sexual attraction, but also as a result of their similar views centered around their hatred of the Party. Although both characters complement each other in terms of their views of Big Brother as Party members, their values and approaches to this issue fundamentally conflict in terms of morality and ethics, history, and politics. With regards to morality and ethics, Winston and Julia’s judgment and beliefs greatly differ. Winston, characterized as an idealist, deeply suffers from the existent totalitarian authorities and their full control of everything.
I know that I said that most of the book and the movie was the same but not identical, here is the not identical details I will talk about. For instance, the plot. Very little of the events changed but if it did, it was quite slim. For another instance, instead of starting at home, like in the book, in the movie she started in the tattoo shop. Another example would be how she teleports in a field in the book and the movie has her teleport right into the house.
There was a story that the present box had been made with pieces of the original box that had preceded it. ”(Jackson 1).Jackson uses symbolism to show that the black box symbolises death. It also shows they don't want to make a new box because the box had been this way since the lottery had started many years
