Dexter Morgan meets Carl Jung = one killer personality analysis Dexter Morgan is a serial killer. However, he differs from most because instead of serially killing people, he kills other serial killers. This might be due to seeing his own mother get murdered right in front of him at a very young age. In fact, he even works for Miami Metro as their blood spatter analysist! Talk about ironic. Throughout the course of the show we see Dexter struggle with who he truly is versus whom he wants others to perceive him as. Neo-analytic theorist Carl Jung believed that there were two forms of the unconscious: the personal unconscious, and the collective unconscious. Under the collective unconscious falls archetypes, which are universal, and common
Depending on who you talk to, Adnan Syed could be referred to as a psychopath. Although Adnan wanted to share his innocence, his defender told him not to otherwise he would make matters worse for himself. During the case, Adnan’s defence attorney asked for the jury to consider it a crime of passion, rather than intent to kill. However, the judge disagreed and said that Hae’s murder was planned and that Adnan used intellect and charisma to manipulate Hae and took her to her
Just as the heroin addicts need for a fix may drive him to steal, the serial killers commitment to the fantasy pushes him or her to murder. In short, the cycle of the serial killer is no different from the cycle of any other addict, the ending outcome being functionally the same as the heroin addict’s
Jacob Chappell CRIJ-1307-01 3/21/2015 Jeffrey Dahmer The son of an absent father and suicidal and self-obsessed mother, Jeffrey Dahmer lived an increasingly isolated life that ultimately led to him becoming one of the most prominent serial killers in recent history. From the moment of entering grade school no one wanted anything to do with Jeffrey. He was unable to deal with his anger about being teased openly and it was repressed which lead to heavy drinking by his early teens and a swift discharge from the army as well as being fired from every job he had ever held.
Jeffrey Dahmer, a famous serial killer who killed over seventeen people, died in prison while waiting out fifteen consecutive life sentences. Dahmer, one of America’s most notorious serial killers, had a difficult childhood that spiraled out of control and began an unhealthy obsession with killing animals as a young child that led to him becoming a murderous necrophiliac. Dahmer, who was born on May 21, 1960 had a relatively normal life until he was four. “He was described as an energetic and happy child until the age of four, when surgery to correct a double hernia seemed to effect a change in the boy” (Biography.com Editors). After the surgery he had little emotion and was an unhappy child most of the time.
On September 21st, 2022, Netflix released a Netflix Original depicting the story of the infamous serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, in a ten-episode true-crime drama that was well received. As a fan of the show, Dahmer came to my mind after discussing Self-Control Theory in class. Therefore I decided to research further into Dahmer's upbringing to possibly explain why one of America's most prolific serial killers' lack of self-control may have led to his crimes between 1978 and 1991. An aspect that explains Self-Control Theory is Jeffrey Dahmer's childhood.
In the beginning and middle of the book, Dexter seems oblivious, comedic, and likable as you see his human side.
As I was watching the interview, I was astonished. I expected Joel Rifkin to be the typical Hollywood serial killer: a deranged man set on revenge, as a result of being abused and neglected, and now was in chains behind glass with armed guards aiming their weapons at his head. Instead, I saw a stoic person who wasn’t behind glass or had a gun to his head. He just sat there and answered questions like a normal person. He wasn’t angry or remorseful.
Dexter focus on criminal taboos to question his victims about their behaviors, while incorporating those answers into his life. He is a serial killer that is mission-oriented. After killing the victims, Dexter uses the tension-reduction function by taking a speck of blood from his victims and releasing victim’s body into the bottom of the ocean. Whereas, Arthur the trinity killer believe that appearances is everything. He does this by becoming more involved in church, community, yet having control over his family.
Jeffrey Dahmer orfan, murderer, cannibal, sex offender. A man with a tragic back story turned evil. A loner at school, who got picked on and had a sick way to have fun. As he got older he became more fascinated with dead bodies of different animals and seeing what would happen to them after a period of time. While he was one of the most know serial killers , he 's a cannibal, he kept the victims heads in the freezer and kept there skulls, poured acid in their heads to see what would happen, and dismembered their bodies after torching them.
Noticeably, there are some ID-dominated personalities in common for the three novels analyzed above. Mr. Hyde, Eve Black and the woman behind the paper. Those characters are similar in several aspects, all appear to seek their pleasures and desires. Also, they tend to have emotion’s instability. All characters, maybe in a different way but somehow they’re disregarding rules in general, and have a sort of aggressiveness.
