Near total replacement of the pancreas with cysts in a patient with Von Hippel Lindau Disease Abstract: Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) disease can affect various organ systems of the body and is associated with tumors and visceral cysts. Lesions of the pancreas are fairly common leading to the occurrence of simple cysts, serous cystadenoma or solid tumors. We present a rare case of a 35 year old woman previously diagnosed with VHL disease whose pancreas on endoscopic ultrasound was found to be replaced by cysts of varying sizes with normal pancreatic tissues and duct not being identified. Introduction VHL is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder with a birth incidence prevalence of about 1 in 36,000 live births. (1) It can manifest with as various

patient was discharged on the 10th postoperative day . Histopathology revealed a true ileal diverticulum 5 x 2 x 0.5 cms with ectopic gastric mucosa . DISCUSSION Meckel’s Diverticulum is a true diverticulum comprising all intestinal layers.3,5 It is the result of a persisting vitello-intestinal duct that normally disappears by the 5th to 7th week of intrauterine life.1-4,7 When it persists it can result in a number of diverse anomalies . Recurrent Medulloblastoma, brainstem compression and occurrence of refractory essential hypertension: a case report ABSTRACT Brainstem compression1-5 leading to systemic hypertension has been reported in case reports and series. This is a case report of a 4 year old male child previously operated for medulloblastoma. He was readmitted with tumour recurrence with leptomeningeal spread involving the brainstem leading to severe refractory hypertension with raised intracranial pressure and finally succumbing to it. A tentative conclusion can be made regarding occurrence of hypertension and fatality in recurrent medulloblastoma. INTRODUCTION Medulloblastoma arise from embryonic medullobastic cells located in the anterior and posterior medullary
Hypertension and some other cardio-vascular conditions also exhibit certain changes in retinal blood vessels. Growth of new vessels (also known as neo-vascularization), disappearance of vessel ( due to occlusion) , change in dimension are some of the structural changes associated with blood vessels. In cases with hypertension, the retinal arteries dilate by about 35%. Inspite of diabetic retinopathy, age and hypertension also causes changes in the structural geometry of retinal vessels. Diabetes may cause retinal abnormalities which is known as diabetic retinopathy, abnormalities in kidneys (diabetic nephropathy), nervous system (diabetic neuropathy) and is known to be one of the major risk for cardiovascular diseases.
