Conie: “I had been playing the guitar for a few years and had become kind of bored or unsatisfied with not doing anything about it. So the next thing I knew, I wanted to start a band.” Q: Where do you guys practice? Conie: “We practice at eachothers houses, and usually on Sundays.
I’m not sure where I would be today without band and the support of Ms. Ryan and my fellow band mates. Ever since the first day of band camp freshman year, I have felt like the Monacan Band is my second family. For example, during the first couple of days of freshman band camp, there was one member of my section that I thought I wouldn’t get along with at all. Four years later, that person is one of my best friends. I am very fortunate to be able to have made friends that love music the way that I do.
As is known to all, spinocerebellar ataxia is hard to cure and patients who suffer from this kind of disease will go through enormous pressure. In other words, this disease will affect the patients’ mental and physical health deadly. However the existing medical technology does not work on it well. Therefore, in other words, if nobody really cares about them, this disease will make patients suffer forever, which does not only result in a heavy burden of family but also a burden of society and medical organization. Is it really able to be cured completely?
That day I had knee surgery, and the pain and doubt brought on by the surgery; completely and utterly devastating. While I would inevitably have to have surgery, I just wished with all my might to hold off on receiving it. I wanted to twirl my senior year, the surgery rendered my goal, my hopes and dreams. Consumed by doubt and a crushing lack of motivation after receiving my surgery, I almost entered into a state of depression. Being different has never been my goal in life, and blending in with a pair of crutches by your sides creates a very difficult challenge .
Both living with polio and the injury from the bus accident caused Frida physical pain throughout the years. She also experienced emotional pain especially during her troublesome marriage with Diego Rivera, who was also a famous painter. Both Frida and Diego were constantly unfaithful to each
Being the seven-year-old I was, I was furious that she kept breaking promises. (part. phrase) After they analyzed the x-rays, the hospital told my parents that there was nothing they could do, it was the worst broken arm they’d ever seen, and I needed to get surgery at John’s Hopkins. If I didn’t, one of my arms would be longer than the other for the rest of my life. My parents were shocked, and my mom got sick. They wheeled me out in a stretcher into the ambulance, and I remember it was raining, and I kept thinking I was going to fall.
A memorable day I my life is when I first found out I was a diabetic. I was scared and didn’t really understand what was happening. I was too sick, and for the most part out of my mind. But, what I do remember is a lot of pain and a few visitors. It wasn’t the best day and I don’t remember every detail.
Southern people typically like country music. We looked at ticket sells from past country performers at various stadiums in the south and they grossed higher ticket sells in the 20% range. We chose Sam Hunt based on our budget. There was five days before the performance date and Sam Hunt had still not met with us in person with his agent. Myself and two other co-workers got into a car to drive to Alabama, which is where Sam was at the time, to meet him.
However, there was one instance that will forever remain in the back of my mind. The PICC line that hurt more than anything. A PICC line is a tube that goes into a vein that can test blood and deliver medication do different parts of a patient’s body. Long story short, I kicked the nurse and the doctor that also happened to be friends of my parents. The experience was horrible because I wasn’t under any anesthesia.
Marching band taught me how to love again. A past band member who had actually been right in front of me for the past five years was standing on the sideline that night and somehow I believe that God placed him in my life to show me that my future is right in front of me. If it would not have been for my boyfriend waving at me one year ago, I do not really know how my life would have turned out. When Alex came into my life everything shifted, I actually had something to look forward to every morning I woke.
On October 3, 1974, at around 10:45 pm, Elton Hymon and Leslie Wright of the Memphis Police Department were responding to a “prowler on the inside” call. They made the scene and observed a woman in the house next to the intended home of the call. She was standing on her front porch pointing at the house. She advised that she had heard glass breaking and someone was breaking into the house next door. As Wright showed both officers on the scene on his radio to dispatch, Hymon went to the rear of the house.
