Chapter One Introduction 1.1. Introduction: Nutrition refers to the processes by which a living organism ingests digests, absorbs and excretes nutrients. Nutrition as a clinical area is primarily concerned with the properties of food that build sound bodies and promote health. a good nutrition for a person is essential to good healthy body and prevents diseases and other health problems, the individual should be provided with knowledge about nutrition and the body nutritional requirement through the life span. The person must take diet that contains carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, water and fiber in sufficient amounts to meet optimal health (Cann et.al., 2007).

Starting off with the serving size and servings per container, it allows you to know how much food the label is going off by. The amounts per serving lets you know just how much amount of each label the food item contains. The calories allows you to know how many calories there are and for example, if the label says “servings per container 2” and there are 120 calories listed, then you are really consuming double the amount of calories and would be a total of 240 calories. The aim of this model is to help clients direct and carry out behaviors that maintain or improve their health with proper education and guidance (Younas, 2017). Quality nursing care is effective when there is an emphasis on the relationship between the client and the nurse. The focus should be placed on environmental modifications and acknowledgment of community resources that are available to help reach their goals. Along with the proper support and education, the client will be able to take responsibility by following a carbohydrate counting diet to achieve goals of weight loss and lower A1C levels. Learning the proper education on the causes of Type 2 diabetes can help the client continue to work on self-maintenance and regulation through self-care for their own lifestyle choices.

TABLE OF CONTENTS AIM(S) OF RESEARCH: To investigate the efficacy of the low-carbohydrate diet proposed by Tim Noakes or the Banting diet as a healthy means of weight loss taking into account the effect the diet has on health indicators through a secondary study of the research done on the diet. HYPOTHESIS: A diet consisting of low carbohydrates and higher fats and proteins will be an effective and healthy way to lose weight. The importance of epidemiology is that Epidemiologists identify and measure the health events within the population. This scientific field develops a variety of models of how an event may occur, in order to recognize and understand those events on a higher level. Epidemiology is really a community health, problem solving process, which is similar to other processes used in healthcare.

Top experts in the field of nutrition are members of The Food and Nutrition Board who wrote this text. This book is dated as it was written in 1992. However, much of the information in this book has stood the test of time.
3. CONCEPT OF PUBLIC HEALTH EVALUATION Public Health evaluation is the process of monitoring health care programs from planning phase to the execution of the program. Evaluation is the process of examining the worth of an object. Evaluation is done in public health to determine the progress of health program objectives and goals. Public health evaluations are important information that serves as a database in nursing diagnoses and also community nursing diagnoses from the assessment data that was analyzed, for any program in public health to be relevant; health program must be evaluated regularly.
