In today’s world, one can find many instances of selfishness, whether it be corruption, killing, or even breaking a heart. However, like a diamond in the rough, someone who is truly selfless is hard to come by. One example of a selfless writer is C.S. Lewis, author of Till We Have Faces. Lewis wrote some of his novels in a way to not only educate the world that selflessness will always win but also the fact that selfishness will always lose.
One of which is time management, which plays a huge role in school life. Student athletes use this skill in and outside of school whether it is for homework, family or getting to practice on time. With the skills they have enhanced they have the ability to make fantastic academic
Competition is essential for men to gain what they desire. By using violence, man create a superiority over family and animals. Diffidence is for safety of the desire, defending their family or animals. Lastly, glory is for maintaining a reputation of their own opinion, things, and superiority over others. When men are against each other without leadership then they are in war, and if they are not fighting then they are in peace.
The constant struggle to be the best at everything, and to be better than everyone else puts a lot of pressure on the people in our society. We feel as if we need to maintain the facade of perfection because of the standards society places on us, money matters because society judges us based on class. Even though we are one society, we end up breaking the minds of people who tried to realize a life of perfection only to fail.“In spite of its elusiveness, we remain fixated on perfection. Often enough, even when we know the flaws, we still defend an image of flawlessness.”-Melissa Bury. The Ancient Greeks had a fixation on an “ideal” world. This was prevalent in their architecture, and in their art of the human body. However, the Greeks pursuit for perfection ends up being just a pursuit, as the goal never can be or will be

Others want to be a millionaire or a billionaire. Singers as well as actors wish to be successful in their career and become famous. Teachers may hope to succeed in imparting knowledge to their students. Many students simply would like to pass examinations or have good grades in school. Notwithstanding their different targets to achieve success, they all must learn ways to fulfill their goals.
W feel when pride overcomes our life, we believe we’re always right and everyone is wrong, and it’s hard to keep relationships with people because no one wants to be with someone that thinks they know everything. When we have to much pride, then it disconnects us from everyone because they think they have to achieve greatness and everyone is getting in there way. Also, our pride can take over someone life as well, because we could be ashamed of them and we want to them to achieve greatness, like in the short story, “ The Scarlet Ibis” the older brother was gifted with a younger brother that was handicapped, and when Doodle tout himself to crawl then, the older brother was determined to teach him how to walk, because the older brother was ashamed to be related to a kid that was handicapped and he pushed Doodle to the point to where to couldn 't handle it anymore. In the article ‘’ Why Pride is Nothing to Be Proud Of” it says, “ Deignity can live inside us regardless of our successes and failures. We don’t have to prove anything to anything to anyone-- or even to ourselves.
