In this world, there are roughly two types of people. One of them eat as much as they want but doesn’t gain so much. The others eat as much as the first one but gains more than the one gains. Even if they spend exactly same life, there is a clear differences between both bodies. The reasons why this differences occurs are various. It is generally said that the DNAs which they have affects to how much they gain. Even the models of Victoria’s Secrets who are called as “Angels” have differences. Some of them are so strict to what they eat or how they spend their daily life to keep their weight and shape. On the other side, the other people have never been on diet. They eat some pieces of cake but that doesn’t really affect to their body. The …show more content…
It can be seen from educational differences. There are many articles and studies which mentions about the relationship between education and income. While the people who has Bachelor’s degree earn $1,237 per a week, the people who only has high school diploma earn only $678. (Dennis 2016) However, the percentage of poor people who go to college is lower than the one of rich people. It happens because they cannot afford the tuition and fees. While there are many opportunities for scholarship, financial aid, or even loans, they still cannot go to college because they need to go work to survive. They are unable to invest for the future. Meanwhile, the rich people are able to spend more money than the others. They don’t have to worry about their basic life. Thus, it would be much easier for rich people to go to college than the poor people. The difference isn’t what poor people choose because they want to, however they are only available to choose …show more content…
Since the salary doesn’t depend on how they work, their motivation tends to be decreased. However there is less gaps between rich people and poor people in the society compared with capitalism society. In this capitalism society, everyone has opportunities to gain more than others. But, when someone gains more, then the other gains less, it means they loss. Because there is a chance to become rich, people work hard, study hard, and make choices. As long as the capitalism continues, people try to gain. Some of them win the gambles and become rich and some others lose and become poor. Thus the gap between rich people and poor people will not disappear unless the society become non-capitalism. While the choices people make has no differences between rich and poor people, the results which the choices bring would be totally different because of the richness or poorness. In conclusion, the choice people make cannot be wrong, however that would be considered as the result the poor people make is considered
Millionaire investors do not typically invest in poor people causing many these hard working individuals to continue to live in poverty. This is just one way the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor. Ivy League, private, and overall prestigious schools cost a fortune. Students at these schools receive a better education and typically find better, higher paying jobs. Students of middle and lower class have to settle for low paying jobs simply because they could not afford to go to a school with great prestige.
Wealth has formed an enormous gap in the society. As a country, the people are as separated as oil and water. “The wealthy class is becoming more wealthy; but the poorer class is becoming more dependent. Social contrasts are becoming sharper” (Doc A), to distinguish the poor from the rich has become extremely effortless.
The main point they make is higher education equals higher income. Becker and Murphy point out the difficulties in paying for college, but they look at the returns being worthy
In “The Dangers of Telling Poor Kids That College Is the Key to Social Mobility”, Andrew Simmons, a high school teacher who teaches in a poor area of Los Angeles, argues that students should be taught to go to college in order to have “an intellectual awakening”. The writer’s purpose is to persuade and inform his readers to accept his view on the flaws of the education system. According to Simmons, teachers promote higher education by focusing on the economic advantages it could bring instead of the actual education that is offered. Because teachers focus on the financial benefits of college, students in poor areas focus on their potential wealth instead of their future education while students in wealthier areas focus on their future careers
The fact that not everyone needs to go to college is the main point that Stephanie Owen and Isabel Sawhill write about in great detail throughout their essay. Even though the authors do say that people that go to college usually earn more, they state that this is on “average,” and that the key focus of their essay is to focus on those that the benefits are not greater than the cost of going to college. (Page 211, Paragraph 1). They also include a graph right under the text that shows how “on average” people with a college degree earn more than those that are just high school graduates. (Page 211, Figure one).
”(Obama) People aren't always born into a family a with money. College should be free to give the less fortune people a chance to go to college. If
To begin with, going to college can help people gain greater wealth. In the article, “Five Ways Ed Pays,” its stated that “you can earn up to 22,000 more per year” (“Five Ways Ed Pays”). High school graduates will have a much harder time finding high paying jobs without a
The problem with the widened wealth gap is that the inequality may harm the quality. Meaning that those in the higher classes see it as you can use the money with no restrictions. However, economist believe that the “relationship between inequality and economic freedom, with the possibility that policies that are meant to reduce inequality will reduce economic freedom, which will then only make inequality worse.”
The contribution of each of these factors has been studied, and although genes play an important role in the regulation of body weight, the World Health Organization Consultation on Obesity concluded that behavioral and environmental factors ( sedentary lifestyles with a mixture of too much energy intake) are primarily responsible for the dramatic increase in obesity during the past two decades.
Firstly, it has been proven that employee’s with a college level education will have better wealth compared to a high school graduate. “Workers with a bachelor’s degree earn about $415 more a week than workers whose highest level of education is a high school diploma.” (“New School, Old Story”) Adding onto that “$22,000 more on average per year, compared to high school graduates.” (“5 Ways Ed Pays”)
A study conducted by the University College London in the United Kingdom proposed that body weight is strongly influenced by genes. In the study, researchers used a new method called Genome Wide Complex Trait Analysis, to investigate the molecular genetic heritability of body weight in children (Llewelyn, 2013). The data collected was from a population of 2,269 children aged between 8 and 11 years old. They were looking to discover whether children who happen to be more genetically similar might also be more similar in body weight. Using the GCTA method, the researchers found that additive effects of multiple genes across the whole genome accounted for 30% of individual difference in childhood body weight (Llewelyn, 2013).
The individuals classed in the higher strata of society are the ones who are better treated, and therefore, are the ones who get the most benefits from society. It is not the individuals’ fault that society is formed this way. All societies are formed in a way that some percentage of the population is ranked in the higher pay range as well as some portion is ranked of the bottom pay range of the scale. There is no way that the social stratification of a society could be present because of the individuals themselves. There will always be a percentage of homelessness in a society and that is due to the larger societal forces rather than being the individual’s
(Dray, Sarah.) Most suppose that by going on diets, losing weight, and going back to their original eating habits is acceptable. These actions are simply making matters worse for them. “People who diet gain more weight than those who skip the diet route altogether (Dr. Axe.) ”
Everyone belongs to a social class. Whatever reality you been born in, is going to shape the way you believe and act. Each individual is different and unique, however, is not unknown that the experiences we had over our life shape our identity. In the movie Elysium, the Earth has been contaminated. The rich people flew away to a new land created in the space named Elysium, which left those with less money behind.
