They made their journey towards the new world, just leaving everything else behind. If they would have thought about what to do if they ran into new people they could have handled things differently, instead of invading the Native Americans land and seem threatening. Due to this we see that the Native Americans and the way that they were treated affected them and this changed their whole world. We hear now a days that Christopher Columbus did not in fact find the land we call America but he did change the world. Was it for the better?
• Richard Hakluyt was a propogander that kept the image of America still there and they worked to create permanent colonies in the New World. Throughout history, we have explored and conquered new lands, stamping the American flag into the earth and claiming it as ours — even if the rightful owners disagree. These feats have enabled us to assert ourselves throughout the world, settling communities and influencing those around us. In doing so, our ancestors refined distinct societies, adapting to the terrain and operating accordingly. Our efforts were not invariably supported, however, and disputes arose among those who were indigenous to the lands we thought ours.
Because of these different thought processes, conflict between Native Americans and European settlers went on for hundreds of years. Having possession and own land was very important to the European settlers. To them, land meant that one was very wealthy and had some kind of political power. Because of this, many of the European settlers that come to North American were able land that they would have never been able to afford in Europe because they were too poor. This is because the companies in Europe offered land to anyone who was willing to take the dangerous trip and settle in North America.

When the first colonists came to North America they learned that land was abundant, work was backbreaking and labor was scarce. They were in need of workers who would farm the land. There were indentured servants, who paid their passage to the New World by working for an employer for a certain number of years. Although this did lessen the burden, it was not enough to resolve the issue. In 1619, a Dutch ship landed in Jamestown, Virginia and traded their cargo of twenty African slaves for food and supplies.
This agreement between the king and the maior domus created a semi-democratic arrangement between them. The agreement was to secure the king’s legacy and the kingdom’s borders. Unfortunately, the loyalty of these lords was not steadfast and the result was many smaller territories with the maior domus becoming its leader. America was founded on the principles of freedom. Some of the first settlers came for religious freedom, and people today still immigrate for various types of freedom not present in other countries. But back in the 18th and 19th centuries, not everyone was free. Slavery had existed in America since the founding of the country. The South mainly used slaves for work on plantations, and the North used them for various tasks like housekeeping and working in factories.

In the beginning, the countries followed a policy of mercantilism, which strengthened the European economy without concern for the other countries in which they were settling. To build up their economies, the new colonies were usually prevented from trading with anyone but the mother country. By the mid-19th century, however, the mighty British Empire gave up mercantilism and trade restrictions. Free trade principles were introduced which allowed colonies to trade with few tariffs or restrictions. The European colonialism brought about by the Industrial Revolution prompted an early wave of globalization.
Ever science the 1629 people have been setting out to come to America. However just because many people came together to live in one place doesn’t mean they lived the same. In fact New England and the southern colonies lived much differently from each other. Even though they might not be many differences does not mean they are very different.
