People are able to think for themselves and therefore they are able to understand when their rights are being violated. They don’t often sit and happily take what’s handed to them and decide to do something about it. Since people are able to understand when they aren’t content with their situation or with the world, they oppose whoever or whatever is controlling them. Since these people who are resisting their governments know that there are usually very harsh punishments for speaking out, they often form underground resistances, hidden from their leaders attempting to put an end to whatever oppressive regime they are under. There are many examples of this throughout history such as the Sons of Liberty conspiring against Great Britain and declaring the United States an independent nation, the German resistance helping to hide Jewish people from the Nazis, and the Underground Railroad, headed by Harriet Tubman to bring slaves to freedom.
WHAT IS DICTATOR? A dictatorship is a form of government or social situation considered by the total rule of one person or a very small group of people who hold all political supremacy without input from anyone else.. While a dictatorship is a kind of government in some countries, dictatorships are seen by non-dictatorships as dangerous and cruel because of the mode they tend to treat their citizens. Dictatorship indicates absolute power — one person who takes control — of a political situation. The noun comes from the late 14th century Latin word, dictare, which means to "repeat or say often."
Picture a world where no politicians existed and everyone had equal power to do whatever the heart desired. Many people would agree that the world would be a better place due to the many negative stereotypes about the group, yet if one were to think hard the world would be in complete chaos without its leaders. It is so often that appearances and attitudes play a major role in how a person is distinguished and little consideration goes to getting to know that individual. The usage of stereotypes and misconceptions to make assumptions about a person has been going on for the longest time; this unfortunately gives the wrong perspective and puts people in categories in which they do not belong in. Moreover stereotypes and misconceptions are used to label a person when it is quite clear that it is inaccurate.
Leadership and followership is very important in any organizations and Kelley’s model of followership shows the importance and how-to followership should be seen. It is not the same, to be a follower is not a bad thing. If leaders didn’t have effective followers they would not have a growing organization. Followership has always been looked down upon, but now is the time to see what they can do and help them grow into leaders. Just like leadership there are good leaders and bad leaders, depending how good of a leader they are will affect their followers.
Life is full of surprises, we start out with so many great plans, but along the way, we may encounter certain challenges that will cause you to doubt yourself and your abilities. During these trying times, it is easy to forget that you have an inner strength that comes from believing in your ability to overcome challenges. Many people lose focus and most probably give up on their dreams because they fail to take advantage of the inner strength which everyone possesses. You must do all you can to avoid falling into that category. Focusing on your inner strength starts with believing in yourself.
He said “some voters do not share democratic values, and politicians must appeal to them as well. These voters are simply more attracted to a system that favors their own particular religion, race, gender or birth position. When large inequalities exist, the problem is aggravated: People tend to take out their resentment on groups they believe don’t share their way of life.” It has been said that one key characteristic of strongmen is their capacity to ostracize those people who don’t belong to their group. Despite being polarizing figures, strongmen find their power in loyal supporters who believe with their vision. The isolation of the strongman’s group as superior to the rest causes those on his side to rally hard for his causes.
People tend to argue/fight leading into destruction causing conflicts, over differences if its physically or even spiritually. Any difference than what you are use to, often bring out destructive sides of human, we often only accept “normal” people into our society. The Chrysalids is a story that has much to do with despicable, but commonly seen nature of humans. Secondly because of discriminating one another, anger will be built up because of the judgments and the level of equality and erupt with controversies. Also, this is not a one vs. one, it’s a society vs. society only because there’s large groups of people who are “normal”, and a large group of “deviants” and these both groups are opposing each
In both cases, the leaders seemed to be held in high esteem for the people that are occupying well off positions within that society. People in the lowest classes don’t seem to hold the same opinion for their leaders and are seen to not trust the government as easily (Orwell, 2008, p. 86; Park & Bong, 2013). Since these groups of people would not always conform with the rest of society, the governments would need to find another way to control their behaviour. The film also has similar features to “The Machine Stops” as they both feature humanity depending on a machine that provides them with everything they need in order to survive. It also protects them from the outside environment that is deemed “unlivable”.
They care more of their image to public, they worry that they would get bad impressions from the populace. A leader doesn’t hide behind hypocrisy. Some political leaders nowadays pronounce fancy words regarding their devotion and pure motives to people but eventually, they tend to stumble and choose the other way around. Political issues like corruption have never been absent in different parts of the world. In the film, the lines of Maria Segovia are a poof that people are fed up with political issues that sometimes they hesitate to trust the government’s words.
This is the second significant point because if the goal of the charismatic leader does not match with people want and need, it just useless. People’s perception is what people doing on what they perceive, instead of doing on what it really is. Therefore, even their goal is for their own good, they still consider about what they need and they want. In fact, most of the charismatic leaders understand what people want well. They usually study the causes that people do not want to see and then they find the way to solve it.
