Many were developed while others were not mentioned in the movie compared to the book. In addition, the prominent character Irene, is pivotal in the plot of the movie compared to the book. Irene is a beautiful pregnant woman who goes against Isidoro Gomez interrogating him about the crimes in this case. The development of Irene as a character raises her sexuality of being a powerful woman despite Gomez punching her in the face, Irene got the confession of Gomez to send him to jail.
