Theater and film , both of which would be considered visual arts share many similarities as well as differences to a very large extent. Some straight forward similarities are that both include high paid actors , revelation of characters, sets , script to memorize , an audience , theme , motif and a central category of conflict. Basic differences of theater and film are the obvious fact that film includes recording of the actors with cameras,theater presents live films usually include a trailer , wider audience , larger sets ,more actors and loads of digital involvement in the creation of the piece. When searching for differences and similarities between theater and film , their origins must also be more closely inspected. Theater was stated by Aristotle to be reacting of ancient mysteries in ancient Greece, such performances were performed at sacred clan rituals. To be a performer at one of these events was a considered a professional job . Theater is for higher middle higher and elite class of mainly white middle aged or senior citizens. Meanwhile films are more for the youth but as well for middle aged people of all classes , However none of these statements are carved into stone as all people can go watch whatever they feel enlightened to watch . This is also has something to do with the popularity of film and theater. I personally think that film is the evolved modern version of theater. Since it can be accessed anytime and whenever. On the other hand theater is also popular because you get to see it live and experience the plot with the characters.
