DIGITAL ELEVATION MODEL ACCURACY ANALYSIS FOR DEVELOPING FLOOD MODELLING ON LOWLAND AREA
Abstract. Flooding has been categorized as one of the natural disaster that could be avoided when the elevation data for required area was accurate to be process for the next step of solutions. The research had been carried out in order to gain an accurate data for helping the responsible officers to produce flood modeling. The research about the application of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) in the context of hydrology was increased due to find out or produced models that would help to solve the hydrology problems such as flooding. The accuracy for DEM produced on the lowland area was helped the authorities to process the flood mapping because the DEM produced showed an elevation data result. There are some aspects which are assessed from the production process to ensure DEM Digital Elevation Models

The accuracy and quality of the manipulated variables was divided into three types which are low/ low, medium/ medium, and high/ high in order for obtaining accurate DEM data. This will indirectly help in the objective of reducing the risk of flooding in an area of DEM data processed since the result showed the most accurate and precise data.
1 Introduction
Flood is the most common natural disaster issues in Malaysia which occur almost every year especially when the arrival of Northeast Monsoon season. Every year the state was suffered losses either in terms of money and lives of the people which are valuable to future generations as a result of this problem. Research and studies conducted by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in several countries showed that the forecasting and warning of the danger of flooding could lessen the potential for losses at a rate of 6 % to 40 %. On February 26, 1972 the Buffalo creek community was destroyed by a terrible flood. The flood caused many tears, pain and death. In the short story, “On the Rainy River” by Tim O’Brien, the author develops the idea that when an individual experiences a feeling of shame and humiliation, they often tend to neglect their desires and convictions to impress society. Tim, the narrator, starts off by describing his feeling of embarrassment, “I’ve had to live with it, feeling the shame”, before even elaborating on the cause of the feeling.
