On Friday, October 2nd, I visited the Wittliff art collection at Texas State University. I was very excited at how much art I was going to see as I made my way to the 7th floor of the Alkek Library, which is where the Wittliff art collection is located in. Sadly, with all of the artwork that was displayed, I was having trouble deciding on which art pieces to write this critique on. However, two certain 2-D pieces caught my eye. Out of all of the displays in the art collection, I ended up choosing Keith Carter’s photograph and Kate Breakey’s painted photograph.

A similar design I think could be created using the technology of today in a portion of the time it would have taken to create this design. The repeated stencilling technique used to create Dylan’s hair almost foreshadows layering coloured shapes on top of illustrator, proving that although it took longer, the same design could be created using pre-technology as it could using the design software of

Ray Bradbury never seems to doubt his themes, or the way he presents them. From his first publication in the mid-1900’s to now he does not appear to falter. The same holds true for his short stories. In “Embroidery”, Ray Bradbury conveys a grim, bipolar ending to three women using symbolism, emphasis, appeal to emotion, and vivid descriptions. Bradbury’s style is very distinct and noticeable in all his works.

A conventional artwork and drawing can be converted into graphic by scanning into digital form. Graphic can be categorized into two types, Bitmap Graphic and Vector Graphic. Bitmap graphic is made up of many dots arranged in matrix and specific order while Vector graphic is stored as a mathematical formula. Thus, Bitmap graphic does not require special software to read because no processing is require before displaying it. However, due to this reason, it occupies more space compared to Vector graphic and take longer time to transfer over network.
