The movie ordinary people is describing a family who is having trouble trying to function with each other normally after losing their son and brother Buck to a boat accident. Buck was the reason that the family was sticking together and were functioning more normally than ever. They would be more connected by talking a lot with each other, doing family activities together, laughing and smiling all the time with each other. Then after that it changed them completely which left them being bitter, depressed, and even having lots of flashbacks of their pasts. Like how Conrad tried to commit suicide because of the lost, which he was lucky enough to survive from that.

Although not very evident throughout the film, discrimination plays a huge role in the movie “La Bamba”. The type of discrimination we see in the movie consist of; prejudices against Hispanics and stereo types. The film 13th directed by Ava DuVernay targets an intended audience of the Media and the three branches of the United States government with an emphasis that mass incarceration is an extension of slavery. I seldom watch indies before because I usually watch films for entertainment. A independent film could be meaningful when it has audiences appreciate it, otherwise what the filmmaker has done and his/her personal vision that the filmmaker attempts to express would be a mug’s game. Confined to a filmmaker’s thoughts, there is no expectation that every audiences can accept ideas of that indie. Hopefully, target audiences of indies are those who are sophisticated and watch movies not just for entertainment. Watching indies give those audiences a chance to ponder over their lives and society where they live in.
