I. Introduction
Have you ever heard of Facebook, Twitter or Instagram? They are famous social networking sites that people use to intermingle with each other virtually. According to Statistic Brain Research Institute, there are about 1.4 billion active Facebook users and 289 million active Twitter users around the globe. The research also found that the reasons they use these social networking sites are to stay in touch with family and friends, find new friends, and find courting companions and many more. Addiction occurs when someone is not having control over something and sometimes it may cause harm to themselves. These social networking sites can also ruin relationships as people may get envious if they find out their boyfriend or girlfriend is exchanging messages with other people. (BBC News, 2013)
C. The last effect of addiction to social networking sites is that the decrease in a person’s health.

An innumerable amount of those people become addicted to social media. Social media are websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Social media has certainly advanced over the years. We now have websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and many more. A majority of the people that use these sites are teens and young adults.
More people nowadays are often resorting to social media as a way to communicate and cope about personal experiences of mental health such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr (Segreto 2018). Social media can help shape our understandings of the world around us, and at times, it can distort reality. Media platforms can positively impact our understandings of mental health and those who suffer from it, that include feeling a sense of community and sharing similar interests as others on a sensitive topic (Segreto 2018). In the article, “#timetotalk: Is social media helping people talk about mental health?” , many popular Youtubers, such as Rebecca Brown and Laura Lejeune, comment on their experiences of mental health on a new social media platform intended to feature videos and discussion boards relating to personal experiences of mental disorders.
The first negative impact of social media is that it leads to brain crashes. Which can lead to mental illness. Spending more time with using social media reduce the amount of using the brain in a good way. For example, using it became addiction some times. Several people are addictive social media, such as Facebook and Instagram.
Before human developed social networking, people use the paper to write something to tell someone with mail. Nowadays, we are using social networking such as Facebook messenger and G-mail to talk someone quickly instead waiting mail for long time to receive. It makes our live simple, but it may seem harmful. There are some ways social networking may affect our mental health.
