I. Introduction
Engineer has become in demand in the society for the past years and is still until now. However, this is known to be a challenging and difficult course to take prior that it focuses more on mathematics and science for all fields. The researchers are conducting a study about the reasons why freshmen students choose engineering as their course.
According to Murray (2014), “Engineering is a broad term that covers a wide range of applications and industries. Combining mathematics and technology, engineers produce creative solutions to real world problems”. Based on what is stated, engineering deals with the creation of strategies and making of designs to make the people’s lives easier which may be as machines or just the place they live in. As a result there are many different types of engineering degrees available.
According to Murray (2014), Electronics Engineers are needed to design and build electronic equipment. Industrial Engineers work for manufacturing companies or as consultants to the manufacturing industry. Electrical Engineers develop technologies to assist with the practical application of such energies. . Civil Engineer involves the development of infrastructure such as buildings, railways, road construction, bridges and general construction project management. Petroleum Engineers handles the extraction of oil and gas from beneath the earth. Mechanical Engineers involve the design of mechanical systems. These systems assist industries such as:
