Memory, in general means ‘remembering’. There are so many different types of memory inside a single PC. Computer memory supposed to help the computer to keep the data when it had not been processed yet. It is also responsible to store the data or applications on a permanent or temporary basis. There are two types of memory that can be classified as primary memory and secondary memory. Primary memory or also a main memory used by the computer to access the data first or directly. Even though it is costly, it is not largely used for data but it demonstrates faster processing ability. Primary memory is use by most computer systems around the world for related purposes, and as for personal data storage purpose, it uses secondary memory devices. …show more content…
RAM can access data in computer in order if it has been loaded. If the RAM performance is high, normally it will translate to a higher performance of the computer system. Dynamic RAM (DRAM) and Static RAM (SRAM) are two types of RAM and both have differing constructions and characteristics. These characteristics include speed, complexity, and cost. SRAM is a digital device that uses the same logic elements used in the processor. It is more reliable but expensive. Due to its high cost, SRAM is normally found in small memories and is easy to use from a designer’s point of view. If power is supplied to SRAM, only then it will hold its data. Static memory has a high cost, consumes more power (than dynamic RAM), has a low storage density and is used mainly for small (cache) …show more content…
Furthermore, it is also can set a quick access to the data. Hard disk is a non-volatile memory, that means it is a permanent memory which is even though the power is switched off, the data is permanently stored. Pen drive is often considered to be an improvement on both the older floppy drive disks and the more modern compact disks. It is smaller in size that we can put it in our pocket. A pen drive is called as a portable universal serial bus. It is shaped like a pen and can be connected to computer using USB port. Because of that, it should be easy to move the data from one device to other. Then we have external hard drive. We can attach external hard drive to a computer through a USB or FireWire connection, also can be connected wirelessly because an external hard drive is a portable storage device. External hard drives typically have high storage capacities and are often used to back up computers or serves as a network
A Linked List is made up of a chain of nodes, linked lists are slow when it comes to random access however they are fast for inserts and deletes anywhere in the list as you can update a few next and previous pointers of a node. A Linked List is a common way of storing an array, a major benefit of a Linked List is that you don’t specify a fixed size therefore the more elements you add to the chain, the bigger the chain gets. This is ideal for the storing of data within our program as we have a take orders method which will add an order to the array each time. An alternative to a Linked List is an Array List.
Addressing: • We can assign byte address across words in two ways. • Big-endian addressing assigns lower addresses to more significant (leftmost) bytes of word. • Little-endian addressing uses opposite order. • Commercial computers use either approach, and some can support both approach Memory Space: In each memory location, we can store 1 byte(8-Bits).Memory Locations are numbered as Big_endian order below.

Thanks to its flash storage which uses solid state technology, which means there are no moving parts. Without any moving mechanical parts, flash storage is more reliable, durable and quiet than traditional hard drives. And, it takes up much less space than a traditional hard drive too. That creates room
Back side of the system unit: * Serial port: it is a general-purpose interface that can be used for almost any type of device, including modems, mouse or keyboard. * Parallel port: It is usually used for connecting PC to a printer. * USB port: It is a plug and play port on your pc. With USB, a new device can be added to your computer without additional hardware or even having to turn the PC off. A single usb can be used to connect to 127 peripheral devices.
Information in the RAM can be read and written quickly in any order. Usually the RAM is emptied every time the computer is turned off. It is known as 'volatile memory'. 1.8.2 ROM (Read-Only Memory) ROM is a memory chip where crucial system instructions (BIOS) are permanently stored. The data held on ROM can be read but not changed.
Components Computers have one or a lot of big or small R-A-M chips inside. RAM chips are a random access memory chip inside, the computer uses it to store information that will be used anytime or used to store something like the copy clipboard(The copy clipboard is the thing that stores what you copy to paste later) to delete/change later. There is also a spinning or solid state hard drive that uses DVD like disks that stores information like your video games, pictures, or other things. A CPU is the thing that your computer uses to do all the processing work, like our brain but not like it. CPU stands central-processing-unit.
This component is when you transmit any file from one computer to another computer, this is usually a much larger file. Most of the webs users would explain this simply as sending it to another computer that is set up to receive it or to send it up onto the internet where several people will be able to access it from their own computers. For example, YouTubers upload their videos on to the YouTube
“Experts call this consolidation, and it’s important for protecting against further information loss as well as boosting your ability to learn while you’re awake.” Storing important memories is another task that the brain takes on. Our brain chooses memories that it thinks are most important to us and intensifies those experiences in our mind. While the brain is
Removable medias consist of Optical discs, Memory cards and Floppy disks. Hierarchical format consist is designed to store large amount of data. Flash drive is designed to is used to store and transfer data. 7. A individual can find a folder by using the start menu then clicking the search box and typing in the desired folder.
The PS/2 ports on the system allow for keyboaerd and mouse functionality to be availible. The optional CD-ROM and floppy disk drive aloow the user to decide how memory is used on the device. There is also a internal and external compact flash slot.
RAM- Ram (random access memory) is a type of volatile (meaning it needs power to maintain data) memory that can have any byte accessed directly at any given time. The hard drive temporarily loads data for programs that are open into the ram because it can be accessed by the
Drop box- It’s a technology that eases distribution of files. Once one puts any data in the drop box, the data or information automatically becomes available to every other member. It saves a lot of time and money. No need for items; flash disks for saving.
Describe different types of business documents that may be produced and the format to be followed for each. There are many different types of business documents that are used daily in business environments, for example; Emails- The fastest way to send documents and information and follow the format of recipient and subject. Spreadsheets- These are used to store information electronically.
A primary source is a source taken directly from that time period. For example, a book, an artifact, a letter. What is a secondary source when used by historians?
