Has one ever tried to explore a way in which texts, images, and ideas move across cultures, languages and even across time? This is the way which translators devote themselves in. Throughout history, translation plays a very significant role in inter human communication. It helps to establish many strong civilizations by exchanging sciences, cultures, and concepts. However, by the time, it is changed into an academic subject that is known as “Translation Studies”. Munday (2001) defines Translation Studies as “the academic discipline related to the study of the theory and phenomena of translation” (p.1). Documentary translation is concerned with all the texts that are used in the highly official settings. It covers both the private legal documents such as: Contracts, Agreements, Certificates and Wills; and the international instruments such as: Constitutions, Statements, UN Resolutions and so on. Moreover, documentary translation is a technical translation that has its own special language, characteristics and constrains. It is considered as the most complex type of translation and accordingly it requires special skills, experiences and qualifications. And accordingly, translators have to concentrate on attaining this while translating. If they try to choose one word to translate neglecting the another, they may not meet the exact meaning. Thus, it is the safest to translate the two words which may be difficult (p.72). However, Sabra (1995) highlights that nowadays translators do not normally use these synonyms, as it is considered an old tradition of the documentary drafting (p.36).
