Electronic Commerce or known as E-Commerce is the process of buying and selling of goods and services using the internet. Sometimes, the term e-tail is also used to show that a transactional process uses the internet or is done online. There are many types of business transactions in e-commerce but here, I just want to say about four transactions in e-commerce which are business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), consumer-to-consumer (C2C) and consumer-to-business (C2B). In this age of internet era, E-commerce has gain great popularity as a business medium. However, E-commerce has its own advantages and disadvantages for both the seller and the buyer. Among the advantages of E-Commerce are ease and speed of starting a business, cost effectiveness, wider range of selection, and wider reach and market, while the disadvantages are dependency to the delivery service in terms of time and quality of product upon delivery, transactions that are vulnerable to cyber threat, and customer sustainability or loyalty. The first advantage of E-Commerce for seller is ease and speed of starting a business. Traditionally in Malaysia for example, to start a business, one needs to register the business with the authority i.e. Company Commission of Malaysia (CCM) followed by registering with the local council for a physical set-up either a shop lot or a stall.
