What this also demonstrates is that a person who continuously makes excuses for every action they perform is not that, he or she is control of her life, (although they think and believe they are), but instead, the opposite. Opposite in that, they simply cannot face up to reality or the actual consequences that will or has occurred. Excuses are merely a facade to disguise one's inability to tolerate or accept reality. It can also be described as a tool, a tool which they use to tease other people's sympathies, when things for them don't go according to plan, or when they have presented a challenge, which they are unwilling to act upon and overcome.
