According to Nussbaum (2004), liberal education provides students with the ability to gain global citizenship by helping them understand diversity and improve their imagination. Nussbaum gives an example of America that is increasingly faced with various threats such as terrorism and global threats of war. The lack of an education system oriented to prepare the students as a whole for the world makes them less informed and vulnerable into believing anything anyone tells them. The poor performance indicates an underlying problem in various public universities that can only be solved by using liberal education. Liberal education will help to open up student's ability to understand things intensively. According to Nussbaum, policy makers in Bahrain should improve the education system; establish first-year seminars in liberal arts and writing programs for students. From the personal interviews conducted, it was established that most public universities in Bahrain are not aware of the huge amount of advantages of having liberal education in their programs. Students and professors in public universities should be invited to seminars and other workshops to help them understand the significance of liberal education. The seminars can be held in the public universities where the principal, the deans, professors and students can be educated about liberal programs and give their opinions. In particular, the public universities in Bahrain can benefit from other universities that have successfully used liberal education to improve the learning experience of students. In addition, the benefits of liberal education can be popularized or introduced through popular talk shows in the television, like the Doctors and advertisement in newspapers across the country, such as the Gulf News. This can be very useful in advertising and creating awareness about liberal education to a large population of people. Such forums will expose the concept to numerous people in Bahrain and challenge various education specialists to initiate reforms in the education
