Part I
The use of lighting for security is arguably varied and debatably successful. Varied lighting does provide an essential benefit to bringing light to darkness. Below are Nine (9) various types of lighting outlining advantages and their limitations in providing adequate lighting relatable to their use within security.
Incandescent
Are predominately used in residences and provide lighting sufficient for measured distances. The advantage of such lights is found in their designed intent. As they provide limit amount of light, their impact regarding light is minimal and unobtrusive to inhabitants. Incandescent light is not intended for security but for safety of residents moving to and from their vehicles. A disadvantage of incandescent

The advantage is the size and quick lighting of an areas, “they are excellent for use along the perimeter barrier and in troublesome areas” (Fernnelly, 2013, pg.183). A disadvantage in using this type of lighting is the amount of energy consumption associated with their use. LED (light-emitting diodes)
LED lights are an increasing source of lighting in secure areas due to their longevity and power usage, “use very low energy consumption and are long lasting up to 50,000–80,000 hours” (Fernnelly, 2013, pg.183). The advantage in using LED lights is the ability to combine a large number of lights to provide high intensity lighting with little cost and minimal space usage in a multitude of areas. A disadvantage to this light source can be attributed to the lack of development and the loss associated with its replacing of standard lighting systems.

"Identify" the "three" chapter 10 IDS/sensor usage categories. Specifically, relate the various sensing devices that can be used in the detection of intruders in each of the three areas. Ensure your response is divided into three separate sections that discuss each category. Clear organization is important. Use bold "and"

If the perimeter defense is bypassed by entering through an air duct or roof, equipment can be places in these areas of vulnerability. Detection is afforded with varied number of devices that can monitor noise, movement, Photoelectric eyes (beams) that can alert of intrusion by any nefarious individual or group for a quick response by law enforcement or security personnel. This protection is designed to overcome any “Stay Behind” criminal. The amount of intricacy of devices is only limited by amount one would like to spend in securing any area or
The interlocking door control system only allows a single individual at a time to enter the “trap”, the individual is than required to provide credential such as smart card, biometric verification, PIN and key fob in order to gain access to company grounds. All traffic in and out of the mantrap can be monitored via surveillance cameras for auditing and log activity. Another alternative would be the implementation of a security guard and surveillance cameras, which is a lower cost option but poses higher risk of theft
In his article titled, “Let There Be Light”, Paul Bogard tries to convince readers that efforts should be taken to preserve natural darkness. He builds his argument using rhetorical devices such as a personal anecdote and concrete details to help persuade his audience that we should limit our use of artificial light at night. To introduce the reader to his argument, Bogard presents a personal anecdote of how dark the night sky was at his family’s cabin in Minnesota. The use of this anecdote helps establish his position on the argument.
Have you ever had the suspicious feeling that someone was watching you? More often than not, it is just your mind playing tricks on you. With the introduction of so many new smart-technology products, it might not just be your mind playing tricks on you. These advancements in technology allowing for smart phones, smart TVs, smart watches, smart speakers, and even smart toilets have come at a great cost: our right to privacy in our own homes. Most of us purchase these products because they are the popular trend at the time.
Light is typically used to guide people and give a sense of safety and direction, while in darkness you are unable to see what may be surrounding you or a way out of a bad situation. The end of the short story uses this concept through the saving of Delia in the light and the killing of skyes in the dark. “Delia enters the house, finds a match, and lights the lantern. Running from the snake, ‘the wind from the open door blew out the light and the darkness added terror’. Skyes enters the dark house, while Delia sits outside the bedroom window.
Case 1: San Francisco International Airport and Quantum Secures SAFE for Aviation System San Francisco International Airport is expecting a rise of passengers due to an increase of low-cost carriers. They require a new security management system to accommodate the amount of traffic expected. Their current process is inefficient and disjointed, leading to many problems. The upgrade required needs to be justified and approved by management to be funded. 1.
My own answer to this question is that there are times when it is right to break the law. In this specific situation I am going through that light, especially if I believe my life is in danger. Here is my justification for going through the light and breaking the law: 1. the original intent of the lawmakers was not to stop everyone in all circumstances but to simply regulate the flow of traffic and avoid accidents. There would be no accident in this case since there are no other cars.
Night baseball games are pretty common nowadays but that wasn't always the case. Naturally, human beings tend to take for granted things that are common today but were practically a luxury in the past. That’s what this article is about: to show the evolution of this wonderful sport and how lighting technology played a crucial role in allowing baseball to remain one of the most popular sports in the country! The first baseball night game(s)
Bogards next piece of evidence revolves around the economic benefits of darkness preservation. First using NASA as a source for backing the rate at which darkness is being lost, Bogard’s logic of excess light being “wasted energy, which means wasted dollars” provides the reader with a simple benefit of reducing light pollution: saving
When lighting an exterior scene with a wide shot, not much could be done to balance levels. But when the director goes for a close-up or a medium shot, he uses diffusion or bouncing light to hide the hard quality of light from the sun. Diffusion and bounced light is in the movies since the late 1910’s and early 1920’s. Keeping the exposure of the actor’s face allows the audience to believe what is going on. The limitation of power on the non-studio shots makes lighting fixtures difficult to power.
Darkness can be a comfortable place for anyone. Without having to look at yourself or have people see you, one may not feel as judged or insecure. Light is revealing. In a bright room, you can’t hide tears, blemishes, or emotions. Blanche, from A Streetcar Named Desire, knows the pain of light all to well.
Surveillance cameras are a staple for ensuring the security of any building regardless of whether it is a home or a commercial establishment. They are available in different models, and when a homeowner intends to a security camera for his home, an outdoor device can be the ideal choice, particularly when he is planning a trip along with his family members for a week or so. As nobody will be available in the home during this period, an outdoor security camera can be installed to record the happening in the place, when there is nobody around. If you 're someone who fears for the safety of your family and you want to make sure that you do everything you can to deter criminals from breaking into your home, then the best way to do that is to install a CCTV surveillance system as soon as possible.
Credibility I myself experienced this where the lack of surveillance made me vulnerable to evil doers. Many years ago, my gadget was robbed at a shopping mall and I was unable to find the criminal since no one witnessed the incident. C. Preview/Thesis Now, with my atrocious experience, I am here to encourage you to support the use of Closed Circuit Televisions or CCTVs in public areas by presenting its applications in increasing security and to clarify that its usage is not a breach of privacy. Introduction. One of the crucial problems that world facing is energy use and energy efficiency is the main solution for this issue. As Juodis (2009) mentioned, term energy efficiency has two meaning, namely minimal consumption of energy and cost-effective energy use which is smallest amount of energy consumption to keep convenient hygiene conditions in a building. Energy efficient construction should be compulsory in Kazakhstan.
wind energy and solar energy are both renewable types of energy they create no pollution and are fully sustainable as they are both powered by natural sources and if there is no wind one day the solar panels can generate energy and if it 's cloudy another day the windmills can generate energy also the energy created during the summer can be sold to the grid for extra capital that can be used for field trips, renovations, etc. Geothermal heating systems are rated the most efficient and eco-friendly heating systems. The system works using buried coils that contain a liquid, typically a mix of water and antifreeze. The liquid is warmed to the same temperature as the earth and then runs through to the home where a compressor extracts the heat but not only that geothermal heating requires no fossil fuels so it is very eco-friendly LED lighting is an efficient and eco friendly lighting alternative because they waste much less energy in converting to light compare to incandescent lights which waste 90% of the energy to convert to heat not only that LED lights last up to 15-25 times longer that traditional light bulbs this makes LED a much better source of lights than others because it wastes less energy and it is more efficient at doing its job this is so much better for the environment because it uses less energy that other lighting sources
