Summary
The paper tries to communicate the different advantages and disadvantages of diversity in cooperates. The author has analyzed the effects of diversity as taken by firms. For globalization the requirement is interaction among people from diverse cultures, belief and background. Management needs to maximize and capitalize on the workplace diversity. Author encourages diversity in organizations as it bring with it better efficiency and competitive advantages. Author defines diversity in terms of different dimensions. Primary dimensions are like age, gender, race , ethnicity while secondary characteristics can be educational background, geographic location, income and communication style. Further tertiary dimension is also included which include beliefs, assumptions, perceptions, attitudes, feelings , values ,group norms. Secondary characteristics are most malleable and they often change. However the tertiary dimension are core of individual identity. There is a comparative analysis between homogeneity and diversity at the work place. Laboratory studies say that for achieving high performance diversity is necessary while field study says the opposite. Diversity can affect the functioning by four ways. It can cause lower level of

There is diversity when it comes to race, age, and education. For example, my manager is a lady of color, and my assistant manager is Hispanic. All the employees ages ranges from 45 to 23 to 19, and more ages in between. Finally, our education is different. I am the only one in college while the rest of the employees were finished after high school.
Having diversity is a significant part of society development
Having a wide range of cultural backgrounds are useful in the diverse costumer case that the every parts of the world have. Having an equality and diversity in the organisation send a fair norms for the employees and customers. Nowadays, workforce in hospitality becomes diverse because employees come from many countries. Age Diversity in the Workplace Diversity at workplace is one of the prominent issues in today’s world. It is the challenging issue that managers face to manage at the workplace. But it gives the highest output if properly managed. By managing the workplace diversity, companies can increase the overall efficiency that results in higher output. The definition of multiculturalism is when you have cultural diversity within a society. Many people assume that having a multicultural society is a great thing, and in most ways it is.
