A microgrid can be described as the localized cluster of electricity sources and loads of which generally run connected to and sync with the macrogrid. However, microgrid can disconnect and perform autonomously.
The operation of the microgrids provides key advantages such as better energy efficiency, reduction of overall energy consumption, reduction of environmental impact, enhancement of reliability of supply as well as network operational benefits such as congestion reduction and voltage control. In term of philosophical view, microgrid is believed to be locally controlled systems which seem more likely to create balanced choices which can be the balance between investments in efficiency and supply technologies as an example. the current electrical grids. The power grid regularly includes the power generation, distribution, and other controls e.g. voltage regulation and switch gears. Nevertheless, microgrids can vary from traditional electrical grids because they offer the closer proximity between power generation and power use which results in better efficiency and reduction of transmission. In the addition, microgrids will merge with other renewable energy sources such as solar energy, wind energy, small hydro energy, geothermal energy including combined heat and power systems or so called (CHP).
Microgrids lately have been presented to be "novel distribution network architecture within the SmartGrids concept". Microgrids function to seize the plenty of benefits from the conglomeration of some miniature scale distributed energy resources into low voltage electricity distribution

The term “Microgrid” has no definite meaning. According to Lasseter (2002), he defined the term microgrids to be “a system approach which views generation and associated loads as a subsystem”. However, seven years later, Schwaegerl et al. (2009), redefined the definition of a microgrid to be "an integration platform for supply-side (micro-generators) and demand-side resources (storage units and controllable loads) located in a local distribution grid" Another researcher named Laaksonen (2011) claimed that microgrid became one part of a distribution network which possessed the islanding capability and capable of reducing the outages resulting in the microgrid performed as a component of upcoming self-healing
The energy associated with each node would be displayed with each node. The nodes except the main source (that are fixed) are mobile. Energy Calculation: …………………………………………………………….Equation 9.2 Where, B= Magnetic flux density(Magnetic flux density is defined as the amount of magnetic flux in an area taken perpendicular to the magnetic flux 's direction.)
\section{Towards Solution} \label{sec:colocation:solution} We now show analytically how co-locating applications and data together in a micro-cloud reduces energy consumption. In the table below we list all the notations used in the model. %\newpage \begin{center} \begin{tabular}{l | l} Notations & Descriptions\\ \hline M & Total Number of micro clouds\\ A & Total Number of Applications\\ H & Total Number of Hosts\\ $E_{ad}$ & active to dormant energy consumption\\ $E_{da}$ & dormant to active energy consumption\\ $E_{sa}$ & sleepy to active energy consumption\\ $E_{as}$ & active to sleepy energy consumption\\ $m_{ic}$& Machine i in a micro-cloud c\\ $R_e$& read energy consumption rate\\ $W_e$& write energy consumption rate\\ $E_{cpu}$
This figure shows that all clients (sub-stations) connect to main server (master controller). 4.7. Renewable power
This paper analyzes the role Major General William S. Rosecrans plays in the Army of the Cumberland’s defeat at the Battle of Chickamauga. Specifically, analysis shows how Rosecrans fails to drive the operations process of his Army through four of the six commander’s activities: understand, describe, direct, and assess. Over the course of the three-day battle period Rosecrans fell short in multiple instances to employ mission command. As a result, the Army of the Cumberland loses a costly battle to the Confederate Army of Tennessee and for no other reason than failure at the highest echelon.

Thus, I was fortunate enough to be influenced in this area of expertise by my family, and I must say they have all been very encouraging and supportive of my academic pursuits. During my undergraduate studies, I have had the privilege of working in two research projects related to power and energy systems. In my sophomore year, I was afforded the chance to work with Dr. Zhaoyu Wang’s research group, where I was charged with analyzing the big AMI data of customers and predicted the demand curve for the next year by utilizing Matlab. This valuable research experience afforded me the opportunity to garner a further knowledge of research and data analysis under the professional guidance of Dr. Wang and graduate student Nichelle’Le Carrington, but I also learned how to conduct independent analysis and projections. However, I am fully aware that I am in need of more hands-on experience conducting research and in becoming more familiar with reading complex literature and research papers.
Activities include residual balancing in close to real time of the electricity and gas markets. Through its subsidiaries, National Grid also own and maintain around 18 million domestic and commercial meters, the electricity Interconnector between England and France, and a Liquid Natural Gas importation terminal at the Isle of Grain. In additional, they also wholly owned a subsidiary National Grid Carbon Limited that has advanced the transportation and storage elements of the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) supply chain. National Grid Plc has various strategies and objectives to attain the business success. It strives for continuous improvement in all their performance in terms of safety & customer services, transmission and distribution networks, building trust, transparency.

In today 's society almost everything that we use in our everyday lives requires some kind of energy source. With our reliance on these sources growing exponentially we have started to become more dependent on other countries to supply our fuel. With this dependence countries debt continues to grow and this has a very negative effect on the country 's economy. Energy can be split into two main groups renewable and nonrenewable. The difference between these two is the fact that one we cannot exhaust and the other we only have a limited supply of.
The sun is a very valuable asset to the world today. We use it for heat, plants use it to grow, and energy such as solar power. Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity. Solar power is the next alternative to all other sources of energy out there. Fossil fuels such as oil and gas are non-renewable, which means they are limited.
Angel Hsu A block Solar Energy 12/22/2015 “Because we are now running out of gas and oil, we must prepare quickly for a third change, to strict conservation and to the use of coal and permanent renewable energy resources, like solar power. ”(Jimmy Carter, televised speech,1977) Just like what he said, we should develop other energy than fossil fuel because we will run out of it some days and fossil fuels are the main reason of global climate change.
Scientists have found that renewable energy is a path towards the future for a clean and safe environment. Throughout all the studies and findings, there is a continuing fret whether people should be able to use a traditional way of energy or renewable energy, solar power. Solar energy is seen to be effective since there has progressively been more places that are benefiting from solar usage; however there are also some who disagree. Solar energy sources are derived from natural sources and is implicated throughout our daily lives. From the lights in the streets to the computers we use at home.
INTRODUCTION A smart grid is a power network which is based on digital technology is used to supply power, via two-way digital communications. A smart grid system allows for monitoring, analysis, control and communication within the supply chain and helps improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption and cost, and maximize the transparency and reliability of the energy supply chain. The smart grid was introduced with the aim of overcoming the weaknesses of conventional electrical grids by using smart meters.
For many years now, it has been debated which of the new and upcoming renewable and sustainable energy sources if the best to use. Energy create from wind, is a very favourable contented in this debate as it is a very good alternative energy source. Wind energy is used all around the world. Humanity has been using wind energy for over 100 years. For example, we used to (some still do) use the wind energy to grind grain in old fashioned wind mills..
Should we pursue alternate energy sources? I feel that we should pursue alternate energy sources. It would stop pollution and global warming from happening so sudden, as we have it currently in our generation. Using renewable energy means that we will never run out of the energy we need.
