Morphology is a branch of linguistic which also commonly known as the study of word formation. As its name suggests, the study of morphology deals an important insight of how language works, exposing the different needs of words’ categories and modifying words in various ways. Morphology applied in education will help the students to understand the nature of the language system. This is because studying morphology means studying the system of the language works that deals solely with how the words are formed and structured. The above mentioned word formation processes are the most frequent or important in the English language, but is is rarely the case that only one process occurs in one word. As we know, there were many ways to create new words like borrowing from other languages, blending together from several words or deriving from words that we already have. Gradually, the word is changed to a more familiar form that usually keeps its original meaning and some may change into a new word and meaning. Even the creative respelling, where the spelling of words is changed for products like coinage is considered to be one of these processes. Of course there are even more possibilities than those which were mentioned before. Last but not least, if we take a look around, we will see a mass of new words surrounding us, brought to us both conciously by language trends or advertising and unconciously through language change over time. Therefore, learning morphology itself will help ourselves to be more creative in creating new words, for we have learned how to form the
