Nowadays, the online dating users are increasing; it means more and more modern people are accepting this method to meet the person they want. A survey found that 14% of singles were dating, married to, or engaged to someone they meeting online (Rosen). And online dating is more efficient than traditional ways of meeting people. Compared with online dating, traditional dating has many disadvantages and it is hard to be solve. So, the online dating sites provide adults with a healthy alternative to the traditional dating scene.
Online dating has many advantages in modern society. Firstly, it creates opportunities for the modern person who has the limited social range. The Pew Internet and American Life Project reported that 16 million individuals had gone to website to meet people online (Manning). These data illustrate that the online dating can meet the needs of person, so they choose this way. And in Nielsen study, he found that most online daters are looking for friendship (46%) or a long-term relationship (45%).
