The question is, why buy outdoor furniture made from cast aluminium instead of wrought iron? Wrought iron comes with the English heritage and tradition; it is after all the material sought after by the discerning consumer.
Is there a shift in that perception these days? You can 't go wrong with metal furniture be it aluminium, stainless steel, or iron. But cast aluminium sales have skyrocketed in the UK, much higher than wrought iron. Need more proof, look at who 's selling it on high street and there 'll be no doubt.
But, the move to cast iron for me was made based on three things. The way the product looks, how perfect it is for UK gardens and there is very little maintenance required. This is why I choose it over other metals, wicker, timber or plastic/resin furniture.

To be honest, the majority of the iron furniture you see on the market is not 'wrought '. What I mean is that it wasn 't formed by a blacksmith using fire and shaping it with a hammer. It is actually made in furniture moulds, similar to the way they make cast aluminium

Steel is more costly than e.g. wood which could have been used but it is longer lasting and is one of the strongest construction materials. It is a lot more fire resistant than wood as it melts at 1370 degrees Celsius while wood burns at 450 Celsius. Although more costly to install as it requires specialist equipment than wood which is a lot easier to install than steel and requires a less skilled labourer. Also steel isn’t renewable while wood is but wood requires more maintenance due to the different ways it is attacked. Wood can suffer from fungal attack; it also decays, and suffers from insect attacks while steel mainly suffers from corrosion.
People have predicted and imagined things about the future since the mind has existed. People just like Ray Bradbury have written down these predictions in works of fiction. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury created a storyline including Guy Montag, a thirty-year-old fireman in the twenty-fourth century is introduced. In this dystopian city and setting, regular citizens just race “jet cars” down roads out of plain boredom or to eliminate stress, “parlor walls” are large screen in every home that are used for daily entertainment and governmental propaganda. These parlor walls tend to take over by grasping the attention of innocent lives of people like, for example, our main character's wife, Mildred Montag.
Oak is one of the most commonly used materials in creating furniture. Oak is a hardwood, which makes it more stronger, durable and have greater resistance. Because of this, the storage unit will be able to last more longer than other weaker types of wood. Having good durability is important because if your home has kids then it might get badly damaged, using a strong material makes it have greater resistance to damage. The oak used also makes the design look more nicer due to its natural looking colour and feel.
“There on the cabin porch, on three legs, stood the living skeleton of what had been a mighty coonhound.” The hound could use only one side of his face. The arm of and shoulder of Sounder faced immobilization. “Half the voice of the man was gone too, so in slow, measured, stuttering he told how he had been caught in a dynamite blast in the prison quarry, how the dead side had been crushed under an avalanche of limestone, and how he had been missed for a whole night in a search for dead and wounded.” Both Sounder and the father crippled from tragic events.

GEOGRAPHICAL FACTORS Rhode Island- Geographical Location This ample wooden chair is found to be originated from the Rhode Island colony (Follansbee, 2011) and was considered to be an upscale substitute to the turned chairs of that time that were more commonly seen (Ray-Degges, 2013). During this time Rhode Island settlers and indigenous people were undergoing many conflicts, battles, and wars. The region consisted of lowlands and flat rolling hills, but it was the red clay along the shore that gave this colony its name: “Roodt Eylandt.” Later that name was changed by the British to the name the state is now known as when the colony came under their rule (Alchin, 2015a, para.
Human qualities such as happiness, guardianship, and determination disintegrate from neglect caused by addiction to technology, as displayed by Mildred's and her friends' excessive technology use. While discussing the nonphysical quality of books, Mildred remarks, "My 'family' is people. They tell me things; I laugh, they laugh! And the colors!" (Bradbury 68).
In Fahrenheit 451, which supposedly takes place in 2026, people are able to have these interactive TV’s. Sometime in the morning, anyone can go and get a script for the show on later and be apart of the program that they are watching in their own living room, or ‘parlor’. There is nothing wrong with the technology itself; in fact, the idea of a whole wall being an interactive television sounds amazing! But Bradbury uses the word parlor here, instead of sitting room or living room, to get a point across to us; when looking in the dictionary, the definition for parlor is “a room for the reception and entertainment of visitors to one's home; living room. ”When reading F451, there are no visits or reception-ing going on in those parlor walls; just
Bradbury uses the parlor walls to demonstrate how an obsession with technology can isolate an individual. Mildred was particularly intrigued with the parlor walls. Clarisse, on the other hand, was not. Clarisse commented, “I rarely watch the parlor walls . . . So, I’ve got lots of time for crazy thoughts” (Bradbury 7).
