Patio furniture in the UK is made from a variety of natural and manmade materials, each having its own advantages and disadvantages.
Metal Patio Furniture
The benefits of patio furniture include its durability, hardwearing abilities, an array of styles and not much maintenance is required. Most metals in the UK now come coated with special paint to make them more rust-resistant and durable.
Metals can be bent into a variety of shapes to make styles from modern to classic. Along with the above advantages, a number of other features can be added like table extensions, folding and stacking ability.

The question is, why buy outdoor furniture made from cast aluminium instead of wrought iron? Wrought iron comes with the English heritage and tradition; it is after all the material sought after by the discerning consumer.
Is there a shift in that perception these days? You can 't go wrong with metal furniture be it aluminium, stainless steel, or iron. But cast aluminium sales have skyrocketed in the UK, much higher than wrought iron. Need more proof, look at who 's selling it on high street and there 'll be no doubt.
But, the move to cast iron for me was made based on three things. The way the product looks, how perfect it is for UK gardens and there is very little maintenance required. This is why I choose it over other metals, wicker, timber or plastic/resin furniture.
Why buy cast aluminium outdoor furniture instead of wrought iron?
To be honest, the majority of the iron furniture you see on the market is not 'wrought '. What I mean is that it wasn 't formed by a blacksmith using fire and shaping it with a hammer. It is actually made in furniture moulds, similar to the way they make cast aluminium
