Discrimination is a major global issue. Discrimination itself refer to an action of treating people differently whether in a negative way or positive way because of his or her race, class, sexual orientation or gender or any other category to which that person belong to. A major discrimination is more likely to be controlled by federal or states. For example, during the era of segregation in the United States, it was legal to force African Americans to use different facilities from white Americans. Discrimination is a global issue because every country have its own problems of discrimination. For example, riot that happened in Indonesia in 1998 due to a discrimination to a Chinese Indonesian.

And discrimination problem should be resolved. Just imagine that you are a Chinese Indonesian that lived in Indonesia in 1998 when the riot happened. Or if you are an African American that live in the US during the segregation era. What if it happened if this happened in your country? This topic is important because of the consequences could be damaging to our social life, emotional, physical, career, and financial. As a result it could damage a country as a whole. This research paper will discuss further about an incident due to a discrimination and a possible solution to reduce discrimination in Indonesia.
2.0 Methodology
For this research, my group and I used both primary and secondary research. We interviewed seven people for the vox populi, a sociology teacher and a victim of 98’ riot. Besides interview, we also did a survey which reach sixty-one responders. We distributed the survey through email and social media.

Discrimination is a tactic people use to show dominance over a group of people they find inferior. Discrimination invokes fear and distrust in the people it is inflicted on. Several incidents were found to have occurred on and off of school grounds for over a period of 2 days. The incident was portrayed in the media as being an interracial problem between Asian and black although evidence exists that other nationalities were involved. It can have an impact on both their mental health and physical health. Someone who is discriminated against may isolate themselves, this could be from family, socially or at work. An individual may suffer from anxiety and avoid situations where they feel they may be discriminated against.
Do people discriminate others to hurt them or they do not realize what their actions are doing?
