When looking back on the changes and continuities of commerce throughout the Indian Ocean regions from 650 AD to 1750 AD, many noteworthy aspects can be seen. One such continuity was repeated usage of trade routes by different merchants and economic groups to import and export goods. Another significant change was the increase of involvement by European traders. Overtime they began to involve themselves more and more in the Indian Ocean trade networks and even began to colonize land.

Spanish records show that millions of silver coins have been taken out. The Chinese merchants have found that when they trade with the Philippines they only return with silver coins.
Introduction In the 1500s were there were only 13 colonies, they traded many items that soon became the center of there region, but, trading these days is isn’t as important as it was those days. The most important things is getting resources from other countries. If we can go back at that time when trading was important, there would be a lot of merchants in the ports trading many things. There were many farmers in the southern colonies that grow many things.
They exchanged products with people from different regions. The merchants came to distant places with items of great value, such as cocoa, gems, cotton or precious feathers. The book displays this aspect when the king was rewarding his artisans for what he ordered them. He said, “Give each of these, my grandfathers, a portion of various rich cloths, and huipiles and skirts for my grandmothers; and cotton, chiles, corn, squash seeds and beans, the same amount to each”
The Olmec people traded jade with surrounding areas to thrive within the community so that they could get more materials that they needed. Trading for items that the people needed but did not have helped the complex society stay alive and thrive. In the Olmec society, the people practiced a religion and spread it among the people of the area. Spread of a religion within a society brought the people closer together to focus on common goals which helped the society evolve into something more complex. In the pyramids of the Olmecs, there were a lot of polished mirrors, which the Olmecs traded to obtain.
During the 15th and 16th centuries, leaders of a few European nations sent expeditions out in the hope that explorers would find great wealth and vast undiscovered lands. The Portuguese were the earliest participants in this “Age of Discovery.” Starting in about 1420, Portuguese ships sailed the African coast, carrying spices, gold, slaves and other goods from Africa and Asia to Europe.
In 1493, Columbus founded the island of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico was finally named this in 1520 after is was named San Juan Bautista by the first settler in 1509 named Juan Ponce de Leon. Puerto Rico started to evolve and in the late 1800’s the first form of government was put to power and abolished slavery. In 1898 the Spanish- American War occurred, in which the U.S. wins Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines and others from Spain under the Treaty of Paris. The Organic Act of 1900 was approved, which established the civil government and free commerce between Puerto Rico and the United States.
There was a high demand for luxurious goods that were special to each region which caused a great increase in trade. This also occurred on the Trans-Saharan trade routes with gold. Religion also played a big factor in why trade was increasing in these two trade routes. Increases in technology helped trade become more efficient and faster. For example, the compass helped people trade along the Indian Ocean sea lanes.
From 600 AD to 1750 AD, the expansion of trade and commerce on the Indian Ocean was transformed by traders and merchants from peoples such as Persians, Arabs, and Indians. However, there are more changes because of the participation of other cultures and people in the trading system. One significant continuity was the use and emergence of the same trade routes for both exports and imports of goods such as ivory, gold, and iron. A significant change was how the commerce around the Indian Ocean economically flourished. Places like East Africa, the Red Sea, India, and the Persian Gulf were all incorporated into the trade route when the commerce was rapidly developing in the Indian Ocean.

Instead of finding India he found a Caribbean island that is now day country Dominican Republic which was inhabited by native americans that he later on called “indians”. When he got to know the native americans and understand them, he started using them and making exchanges for goods and gold for his king and queen in
Columbus reportedly traded pieces of his ship for gold, and was given a golden mask by a native chief. He later said in court (believing he had reached India) “There are many spices, and great mines of gold and other metals…”. After learning of the untapped natural resources and potential for wealth, European nations created an exploration frenzy, with constant voyages to the new world. The nations which sponsored these expeditions would give the explorers a cut of all the gold they found, which helped motivate conquistadors to make the long and treacherous journey to the New World. These explorers knew gold would bring wealth and power to them and their country, in addition to achieving tremendous glory for both.
When a region has to export goods It’s usually involves the things that are not available in their region of importing. The ocean wind have worked perfectly with the Europeans to use, They formed a triangle trade, so then it gets to each area and get what they need to get to. Mostly when they ocean winds is great to ship they use this time for shiping main goods such as food, crops, sugar, cotton, copper, and especially guns. Mostly in the middle of age of exploration regions did not have money to get them food and things they need by shipping they would do a contract with the place that they will export from the contract they say, Like you give me food and I will give you copper, so it’s exactly like a deal

There are many advantages and disadvantages to the Civil war. First off, the differences between the presidential leadership will be discussed, and how different each had very different leaders, then I will discuss the transportation problems, and lastly I will discuss the industrial production between the North and South. The presidential leadership during the civil war wasn’t, as someone would expect. Abraham Lincoln was the North’s leader during this time period. Lincoln had very little war experience; some say Lincoln didn’t look the part as a military leader.
