Discipline children is aimed to teach them to have good or proper behavior in daily life. Discipline doesn’t mean punishment, but parents should discipline their children effectively in order to guide or lead them in controlling themselves when interact and behave in their environment. Many ways can be applied to engage children with good attitude and behaviour. It depends on how parents can manage their appropriate strategies to educate children. Every parent has different ways in discipline their children, and it also with parents from different countries. They have their own path to do this issue. Although some parents prefer to advice children when they are wrong, but most of them often use violence when facing this case. I saw some of my neighbors in my village also applied this to their children. For example when a child ate to much the dish in a party, her mother directly said “Stop! Don’t eat anything. You are shameless”, and it’s followed by pinching in her arm. Another case that I found in my area, a father smacked his son when he said something rude to his father. In addition, parents also tell children something awkward just to avoid them to be wrong, such as “Andi, jangan bandel, nanti dipenjara pak polisi!” There is no coherence between prohibition and the reason …show more content…

They often cannot control their emotion when facing this case. Rudeness and violence might be the alternative ways to warn children. Moreover, parents forbid the children for something which they are not supposed to do without giving the appropriate reasons. They just talk something or act that children cannot catch the meaning directly and easily. So, children will not be aware what their mistake is and they will not understand how to do something correctly or how to act
