Texting while driving seems to get many people into unwanted problems hence, it should be banned in Texas to get rid of unnecessary problems and killings. However, people still do not seem to get it and keep on getting distracted while driving by the calling of social life. Although they have tried twice, Texas' ban of texting while driving seems to always get vetoed. The citizens do not appear to realize how dangerous such occurrences can actually be.
In this era, with technology as a part of everyday life, it has become difficult to use a simple Public Service Announcement (PSA) as a way to reduce distracted drivers. This is due, for the most part, to the developed habit of assuming. People believe, since it’s seen in many shows and commercials, that those ‘bad things’ that come as a result of distracted driving are not likely to occur to them. People want to prove that they are able to do multiple tasks at once and every PSA would be a challenge so to speak, to show they are above average at multitasking. Those such assumptions and aspirations to prove oneself have resulted in such growing rates. On the other hand however, there’s a way to use such a method for those who are prepared and
All throughout the majority of my high school career I have watched all different kinds of public service announcements. The high school system loves to incorporate these multitudes of videos to try to convey a message. As a high school student I can confidently say that neither me nor my peers can learn from or relate to these videos. In driver 's education and health class every highschooler has to watch these public service announcements on stopping distracted driving. The videos that the school provides are often completely outdated and make you wonder if the tragedy at hand actually happened to the people poorly acting in each of the videos. Although there are one or two videos out there that actually may have an impact on the viewer, the

Safer roads is a goal that virtually everyone benefits from since we all share the road infrastructure. However this goal of safe roads can be difficult since there are many circumstances that can put drivers in dangerous situations. But perhaps the one that has gotten the most attention as of late is the issue of distracted driving. There have been countless attempts in order to help stop this issue, yet it still remains one of the leading causes of auto accidents. Clearly action is needed in order to create change and one such action that can be taken is that of reasonable legislation to combat these problems along with enforcement of preexisting laws. Ultimately proper usage of existing laws in addition to proposing new laws to help curb current issues
Pick one of the Current Issues topics that are at the beginning of each chapter in the book and discuss, in your own words, both sides to the issue. In addition, answer all questions presented at the end of the issue. Then give your opinion on the issue and explain your point of view. This project should be 3 pages long (single spaced) and is due on 12/17.
States across the US are starting to implement laws in an effort to stop distracted driving. Truck drivers have to follow another set of rules governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). They regulate how long a truck driver can be on and off the road and the FMCSA also defines and regulates distracted driving in the trucking industry. Distracted driving is a dangerous practice but distracted truck drivers put private commuters at an even higher risk for severe injury or fatality.
FATALITIES: In 2012, 3,328 people were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver; 3,360 were killed in 2011.
A couple months ago my roommates and a couple friends were enjoying a sporting event that was being broadcasted on the television. During one of the commercial breaks we were socializing with each other and all of a sudden each of us, one by one became quite because of a commercial that was airing. The word “yeah” flashed across the screen and then a young woman with tears streaming down here face said, “these were the last words my sister read before she died”. Her sister had been driving while reading a text message that was four simple letters, “yeah”. In a split second from looking at her phone, she had clipped the median of the road and her car started to roll, which is when she was ejected 300 feet from the car. For this young lady, her life ended because she was texting while driving, but she could have easily been putting on makeup, opening a soda, or even talking to a passenger and still have been in that fatal car crash. AT&T and many other cell phone companies are putting information out there so people know the dangers of being distracted while driving. States need to start making aware the dangers that come from distracted driving and the effects that it can have on not only the driver but everyone on the road. Having a mandatory class for new drivers about the dangers of distracted driving could possibly help reduce the statistics of
Distracted driving any activity that could divert a person’s attention away from the primary task of driving. Anyone who drives would more than likely admit to being distracted while driving. Many forms of distraction exist while driving. The distractions people take part in create many serious problems like death. People do not realize that the smallest distractions can result in a life changing event. The issue of distracted driving has had some laws against it, but the laws do not do enough. Distracted driving needs stricter laws because major issues result from it including death or serious injuries
Do dealers of cars & dealers of phones want to kill us or help us? I think that they should make phones turn off when you get in a car, the car should be programed to tell the phone companies that someone is driving. Everyone talks about how they wanna stop texting and driving and the only thing they have done was have police officers give them a ticket or warning. Yeah that might scare some people but in the end if there's no cop around then they will just pull their phone out again. “ Do you wanna have your last text be hi or something no one's ready to send their last text out…”.I think that people should stop texting and driving because there’s been so many injuries and deaths”(Apecsadmin).
These days almost everyone owns a cell phone. Texting has become a worldwide phenomenon and people can’t seem to put their phone down, even when they’re driving. Texting and driving injures about 330,000 people per year. Most states in the US have illegalized texting and driving, but four states are still allowing this to happen. Texas, Montana, Missouri, and Arizona have yet to make this dangerous combination illegal.
