This is something that is experienced throughout the book and ends with some very well throughout twist on Rick Riordan’s part of writing the story. But it also could be because she is married to an important Abnegation leader. Maybe she also know more about the initiations from the other factions because her husband works for the government. Why is Eric so afraid of the Divergent? I think he is scared because they could intervene his war plans with the Erudite. Tris says herself: ‘’ He would kill me if he knew what I was.’’
Trish was now exploiting their daughter by trying to cure the world of sleep insomnia without thinking

It is crazy to think how pop culture can point to the things it works so hard to reject, but in the case of Divergent by Veronica Roth, parallels between it and the gospel abound. Divergent is set in a dystopian Chicago in which the citizens are divided into 5 factions; the brave, the selfless, the intelligent, the honest and the kind. The story follows Tris Prior, a sixteen year old girl who realizes her Divergence, or possession of characteristics of more than one faction. The novel and film adaption of Divergent include many similarities to the gospel, notably the emphasis on a choice of commitment, the concept that we need more than one characteristic to grow, that salvation is brought about through sacrifice, and that humankind is at its heart, evil.
This gives Tris an aristocratic and noble status. Tris also shows a level of high status on account of her being divergent, meaning that she aware that the many simulations which the government puts her through are just that: simulations, as opposed to real life. Because the trait is very rare, Tris is of an elevated status, making her a unique and powerful young woman. This is most notable when she becomes aware that leaders of another faction, Erudite, are using the simulations to try to control people in other factions. In her attempt to rebel against Erudite, however, she demonstrates both excessive selflessness and impulsiveness, these exemplify her two fatal flaws.
However, those that don’t should be killed. Throughout the movie, Tris had to pretend to fall into one category that she chose in order to save her life and not be

In the novel Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger readers are introduced to a young man named Holden Caulfield who introduces himself and begins to tell his story of how and why he left his school; Pencey Prep. In the story, Holden explains how he is being kicked out of school and doesn't want his parents to know and so leaves school early. throughout the story, Holden explains what happens to him before he must go home and act like he is home from school for a break instead of being kicked out. When it comes to the topic of Author's purpose of The will of individual vs the will of the majority some will think the purpose is to show that Holden going against the will of society to rebel, however, I think the author’s purpose of The Catcher in the Rye was to show that the individual will manifest in his desire for isolation comes from his is fear and damage done by fear of pain, failure, rejection, and is unwilling or unable to go along with the majority. This all shown through Imagery, symbolism, and diction.
When she arrives, she is the “sweetheart” of the group. She has a very “bubbly personality”, as Tim O'Brien describes. She even shows her innocence in how she speaks. “They’re human beings, aren't they? Like everybody else?”
Many people think about her extreme bravery as her throwing herself into danger. More than once, she had also told herself that she would rather be dead than Factionless. Tris has a lot of determination. When she first came to Dauntless, she was the second last on the score board.
