World Englishes functioned as nationality markers distinct by phonology (dialects) refer to a language variety where a user’s regional or social background appears in his or her use of vocabulary and pronunciation of the English words. For instance, most English creoles were formed in British colonies, following the great expansion of British naval military power across parts of the world in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries back then. The year in history we’ll begin with is 1760. Currently in history, colonization has been going well, and life in the colonies was beginning to stabilize. King George III has just assumed the throne, which seemed harmless. Everyone was living in a state of peace, and in a state of international consensus. A few years later, things took a turn for the worse.
But at the same time, the Colonial Era was when scientific advancements slowly gained momentum. The printing press and electricity changed the world for the better! And the many religions formed are all interesting, seeing how they all differ in views. The people of that time were also very daring and brave to stand against the British. Even before that, in the French Indian war, they never gave up and managed to claim lots of valuable land.
How could diversity in the United States potentially lead to collapse? There are many elements that contribute to collapse. Whether it’s on a larger scale, like a country, or on a smaller scale, like a family. There is an infinite amount. But the most important one, is diversity.
Walter Benn Michaels has a large amount of knowledge in diversity, he has written many articles on the topic. Michaels has expressed his knowledge and beliefs that there is a great deal of diversity among human beings. Unfortunately, diversity has been defined by the average Americans as racism verses economic stability. In the article, “The Trouble with Diversity: How We Learned to Love Identity and Ignore Inequality,” Walter Benn Michaels’ skillful presentation of his logos overshadows his less successful portrayal of pathos and ethos concerning the idea of love for identity. However, Michaels has impeccable logos in the article with his references on the idea of love for identity, but does not express his ethos and pathos as fluent.
Having food on the table, a roof over your head, and a job to make ends meet. It is a basic human right. We live in a global era where all people need one another to survive and succeed. Immigrants bring diversity to the United States, along with their cultures, and skills, which help make us stronger as a nation. Without diversity in our society, we would be self-centered, which means we need immigrants.
Though McWhorter disproves this theory by showing that these “African Englishes” are called creole languages and are spoken in different areas like West Africa and the Caribbean. African languages are also extremely different from English in every way, making it foreign to English,

Colonialism and Imperialism affected our world both positively and negatively. On one hand, Imperialism has often been linked with racial segregation, manipulation, and hardship. An often glossed over and prettily wrapped part of history can be found when examining the colonial era. This was a time of imperial racing to see who could develop the most civilizations and obtain the most land worldwide. What is ignored though is the truth of what colonialism did to the nations and the reality of its impacts on the world as a whole. Colonialism is responsible for the unequal biases toward race, gender, social class, among and within nations. Further, colonialism set into motion exploitation of nations of the global south for the benefit of nations of the global north, and even upon decolonization, with the optimistic idea of independence, imperial powers set up a system to where the decolonized nations were still dependent on them and continued the abuse of the global south nations and their resources for the economic gain, and that system sticks with us to this day.
