EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In exploring for continuous growth and improvement, multinational firms mostly introduce innovations to the workforce. In the pursuit of innovations, multinational firms have to respect the diverse expectations of customers and vendors around the globe. Firms form innovation projects organized on the basis of cross-cultural teams among related companies internationally. These consist of team members from diverse national and cultural backgrounds under the universe. The diverse team members can supply knowledge of international markets, specific technologies, transfer of knowledge and technology and their styles, which depend on their personal background and lifestyle. Even though diversity of global teams provides for new ideas and improved understanding for markets segments and technologies, it may suffer from diverse cultural values of their international members.
Today, the workforce diversity has become a reality whereby the impact of globalization has affected the expatriate and repatriation as well as the organization largely. It varies with the type of environment and firm’s overall strategy and workforce diversity. Workforce diversity refers to the existence of people from various social-cultural backgrounds within the company. It can include cultural factors such as race, gender, age, colour, physical ability, ethnicity, people etc. (Kundu and Turan, 1989). Diversity

6 Case Study: General Electric Expat Policy The following is a case study of a former expat Employee of General electric company who lived in china for 5 years for the purpose of the overseas assignment. The case studies the policy of the company and the certain processes followed by the problems that the expat faced during the term of his overseas assignment. Given the globalization, it has become the critical part of an organization to drive the expatriate opportunities for the their employees which in turn helps the organization to retain the top talent as well as to build the talent pool for more challenging roles with global best experience back in their country.

Everyone around you will have similarities and differences, there is a reason we are all individual people, we are all different and have something different to offer. Culture plays an important part in shaping a person’s behaviour. Cultural values and beliefs provide a framework for people to make assumptions about and respond to their situations and or circumstances. Culture also strongly influences perceptions and expectations.
Nowadays, workforce in hospitality becomes diverse because employees come from many countries. For instance, an organization can include employees come from America, France or Vietnam… Then creates a challenging issue for managers is how to manage well a diverse workforce. All students deserve to be treated fairly as individuals. When considering the diversity of the class members, we will celebrate the uniqueness that the differences contribute. Because I have high expectations that all my children can be successful, adjustments may be necessary because everyone is not the same (Burden, 2017, p. 115). It is vital that a spirit of understanding and edification is active amongst the students and from the teacher (Romans 14:19, King James Version) to produce fruits of mutual respect: reduced bias, positive academic outcomes, enhanced problem solving, and healthy group dynamics (Cousik, 2015, p. 54). For differences that stem from culture, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, the adjustments will involve bridging the cultural gap between the students’ diversity and the curriculum.
Age Diversity in the Workplace Diversity at workplace is one of the prominent issues in today’s world. It is the challenging issue that managers face to manage at the workplace. But it gives the highest output if properly managed. By managing the workplace diversity, companies can increase the overall efficiency that results in higher output. Besides, it enhances the image of the company to become ‘Employers of Choice’.
Globalization is the process of transformation of the whole world into the global village, and it means that the borders of countries are open to reciprocal integration and connection. All governmental systems in both developed and developing countries were under the influence of various globalization processes. Regarding education, it is considered that developing countries felt significant impact of the globalization processes in the last 40 years. Globalization and education are considered as an intertwined set of global processes affecting education, such as worldwide discourses on human capital such as are lifelong learning, the knowledge economy and technology, English as a global language; multilateral organizations and multinational corporations. Educational discourses generally assign to human capital, lifelong learning for improving job skills, and economic development, because most governments prioritize the developing the human capital to stimulate economic progress.

Though there are many challenges from language, culture, technical development and business attitude that are faced by the managers working globally. The aim of this assessment is to reflect on what I have learned this semester regarding the module of Business in Global Context; from the lectures with the professor, the case studies done in class and the three previous patchworks that we worked on. We have learned that there are different internal and external components that affect the business environment, from corporate social responsibility to cultural and institutional framework; organizations must take into consideration all the factors related to the different parts of its environment. For the topic discussion, I will be discussing globalization and how it has affected the global business environment along with the key aspects and the different point of views regarding it.

It will clarify and explain the advantages as well as disadvantages for a company having employees of different cultural backgrounds. Likewise, it will also explain significance of dealing with different cultures, influence of culture over the workers and style of management. Similarly, it will also discuss significance of cultural training and cultural diversity implications in managing an organization.
