H is the eighth letter of the alphabet, so 88 = HH = Heil Hitler often times or occasionally a white supremacist will use a hand sign to display or flash the number 88. Today they say that the confederate flag stands for heritage and pride while the non-confederates say it stands for slavery. These people only think that it stands for slavery because of the twisted history of the flag. Researchers say that the flag isn't a sign of slavery but they have their own opinions and beliefs. They also say that it is just a symbol of the southern states history.

Finally, no I do not believe that the flag is a symbol of hatred or racism, but I do believe that some individuals do believe that, that’s what the whole history of the flag is based on. I believe that every individual should get solid facts/proof/knowledge on the topic and actually know what is going on, instead of believing everything that they hear and or see on the internet, TV, radio, ect… We already have enough problems in this world as it is. Know what you’re talking about and about your history before you open your mouth and make things an extremely bigger problem than it should
Racial profiling is a problem across the entire nation in law enforcement. In every community it differs to who is being oppressed, and it usually depends on the type of race and ethnicity the community holds. As to us, our culture and setting consist of a high percentage of hispanics and latinos, so here comes to our problem as to who is being targeted mostly in our racist issues with the police brutally. The problem we face in our community is the fact that being from the culture, we grew up in all policemen stereotype latinos for the way they make look or speak.
One of the central multicultural issues facing the criminal justice system today is the need for clear communication with recent immigrants and subcultural groups that have not been fully acculturated. Many such groups hold to traditions and values that differ from those held by the majority of Americans. Such differences influence the interpretation of things seen and heard. Even more basic, however, are language differences that might prevent effective communication with criminal justice system personnel.
Diversity is a feature that is represented through respect and admiration of characteristics that are either similar or different. When diversity is not fully understood and people are unable to see past such external factors an attitude of intolerance can result and cause one to commit a hate crime amongst a certain group of people. A hate crime is simply “a crime, usually violent, motivated by prejudice or intolerance toward an individual’s national origin, ethnicity, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability” ( ). Hate crimes can happen anywhere and at any time, and can devastate the victims and families whom are involved. For example, a college fraternity hosts a “Mexican Border Party”, to gain entrance; students must crawl under a barbed wire barrier.
Those of the minority community have been exposed, for a vast amount of time, to violence by those in the law enforcement. This variety of violence is a direct depiction of police brutality, which frequently generates death. Certain races, especially the colored skinned, are considered to be accused in criminal activities as a result of their race, notably when there is no valid proof present to affirm these allegations. In any police department in the nation, many of the officer's intentions is to do the ethical thing. However, the remaining will consciously breach the human virtue of the people in the communities they serve.
One of the greatest challenges law enforcement are facing is providing effective policing for minority communities. Some factors that prevent minorities from gaining access to justice or being taken advantage of certain criminal justice services are language barriers, racial stereotyping, and cultural differences. Since the 30 's and 40 's, and even during the 60 's, civil rights activists damaged the police-minority relations in the United States, believing that police only interest are protecting white communities. A big explanation of why there 's a poor police-minority relations in the United States is racism on the part of the individual officers. Many minorities in the United States have continued to complain about being treated more harshly than whites and the Department of Justice believes that racial profiling and police discrimination will continue to be a big problem.
1.The theory/concept of intersectionality is a theory centered around oppression, domination and discrimination through various mediums from the social and cultural elements of society. The theory can be applied in many ways toward women as well as their involvement in the criminal justice system. Some forms of discrimination that is more prevalent in perceiving the individual is using a woman's status, race, sexual orientation, ability and age, however there can be more added to this list. Male officers have also stated negative remarks about female officers who work in Law Enforcement. These barriers have caused female police officers to resign from their positions to avoid any issues and because gender discrimination and the other complaints aren’t taken seriously in Law enforcement. By the females constantly compared to the male police officers has caused stress on them. It’s much harder for woman to advance in Law enforcement than men and when interviewers make their decisions they are more than likely choose men over women. It is important to think critically when dealing with the barriers discussed above because it can be challenging and cause someone to give up and quit.
Although some people may challenge that diversifying police officers will not make a difference in the relationship with communities, police departments mirroring the diversity of communities may mend tension.
