Do my personal best--a lifelong mission How often nowadays we hear such too oaths from officials as this " we should remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind", which is the solemnity of a great nation, and the same is true for individuals. As for me, I'm a fortunate generation that shoulders the heavy responsibilities. In this realistic and cruel world, I'm playing different roles, however, do my personal best in different roles at different stage is my lifelong mission, and this really is going to be a recurring theme throughout my entire life. Here I'm just one of the hundreds of thousands people, and I'm just ordinary people who are insignificant in history. Nevertheless, thanks to lots and lots of flesh and blood like me, our country can gradually become strong and prosperous. So, regardless of where I work and what job I do, I need to look for ways in which I can contribute more to our national agenda by bringing into playing my experience, skills and international outlook. As an individual in this large country, I am closely related to and bear obligation to our homeland and other people--that is what people call social responsibility. That's why I …show more content…
Be real, which is the first quality of being a great friend, every friend I meet has the right to be accepted his or her own merits, as one of their friends, I need to fill their brains with good things and help them to be what a better man should be. And then, be honest. I will always keep in my mind that a dishonest person doesn't deserve the true friendship. Next, keep my promise and doesn't lie. More than anything, be respectful, for a good friend should treat things my friends and I with care, because sometimes they aren't tell else about it, only me. Moreover, in their time of greatest need, I will give them a helping
There are a lot of qualities to make someone a good friend; just by simple things. I am going to refer making someone a good friend to the book Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick, there are a lot of good qualities of a good friendship in this book. First is how Max and Freak are there for each other always no matter what situation. An example of this act of friendship is on page (131 chapter 20), “Freak is pointing the squirt gun right in his face and he says, “Guess what I got for Christmas, Mr.Kane? Guess right, because your life depends on it.’”
The world, as well as ourselves, can become confident. I will encourage scholarship, leadership, and good citizenship with my school and community. With my hardwork, not only shall I benefit, but all that I help shall be benefited as well.
Brandon, How would you attain your goal to strive for excellence and sportsmanship in all athletic programs? How is it that winning at least 50 percent of their games would help the Florida International athletic programs strive for excellence and sportsmanship? Having a winning record does not always translate to that team exhibiting sportsmanship. For example, throughout the recent program history of the University of Miami, there has been multiple occurrences of NCAA violations and they have had a winning record a majority of the time. The athletic programs at Florida International University should mandate that all student-athletes attend classes geared towards sportsmanship.
My Responsibility to America “Radical changes in the world of politics leave America with a heightened responsibility to be, for the world, an example of a genuinely free, democratic, just and humane society.”- Pope John Paul II. To more appreciate the freedom that you have in this amazing country, just think of all the men and women who have willingly gone into combat to fight for you and your country. People that I do not even know are out on the front lines fighting for my freedom. With all freedom comes accountability.
I always serve my community in any way possible. I am always a good leader for groups, sports, etc., I always welcome new ideas even if
When asked what someone wants in a friend, a typical response would be loyalty. Best friends can not have a long term relationship without loyalty to one another, so people look for loyalty in a friend. However, loyalty comes with a cost. There are consequences of being loyal to others, like selflessness, devotion to the friendship, and more. Throughout Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, loyalty to others causes significant consequences because it can either result in harming oneself from selflessness, or abrupt betrayal.
Finally, I help everyone I can and I honor the country. I show these attributes by doing community work, helping out my family and developing my own opinions on political
In addition, it is my duty to inspire, impress,
President John F. Kennedy 55 years ago, during his inaugural address, called for Americans to serve their country with the powerful quote: “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” Since then, a million Americans have signed up for service through AmeriCorps. I can testify that data because I’m one in a million that is currently serving as an AmeriCorps member at City Year Washington D.C. The reason why I’m serving currently as a core member at City Year is because I believe that in order to change the world, you have to start from home.
My education provides the foundation for my future. In order to ensure my success, I must also continue to engage in service projects. My involvement in community service with National Honor Society has kindled
This world is filled with issues and millions of people are the victims of these issues. We not only have responsibility to our family and our community, but we also have a duty to help and care for each other in the world despite the racial and status differences. In the community setting, it is important to take part of organizations that establish rules beneficial to the public. We have a commitment on this earth, as global citizens to be beneficial and decrease the poverty, the shootings, and the plagues to make this world a better place for the present and the
Through serving others, I have come to realize that every person, regardless of one’s cultural background, has something to offer to the community. As an immigrant, I was quite hesitant about accepting new challenges. The fear of others’ judgment regarding my performance hindered my progress. However, through serving others in various capacities, I was able to interact and help people in my community, who themselves helped me overcome my fears. Whether helping patients at St. John Providence or assisting refugees at the American Red Cross, I was amazed as to how much my presence made a difference, especially for those who needed me to interpret for them.
Most of the time I have no choice but to spend from my own pocket to reach places and people who desperately need my help. I have realized that some drug addicts will not come to me for help; therefore, as a social worker, I will dedicate my time to visit them, talk to them and offer them rehabilitation and help. Similarly, when going to areas stricken with poverty, I will have to bring along things like foodstuff and clothes to offer the poor. Voluntary service helps to change people’s perspectives on life and makes them feel obligated to achieve something good as ‘payback’ to the volunteers who help them without asking for pay. Therefore, by doing voluntary work, I will be making a big difference in the society.
The Ted-Talk, “What It Means to be a Citizen of the World” given by Hugh Evans was seemingly directed towards those individuals who “self identify first” as a “member of a state, nation, or tribe” and therefore are focused solely on the improvement of their closed-community rather than the improvement of the entire “human race”. Therefore, centering his audience at those individuals who remain outside the lines of being a global citizen. The main idea that Hugh draws up throughout his speech is the impact that the actions of a single individual; no matter how small, can have when one acts with the purpose of combating “extreme poverty, climate change, and inequality” on a global scale rather than a local one. In order to do so, Hugh introduces the stories of a few individuals who have been able to impact people that are “not [themselves], not in [their] neighborhood, [their] state, or even in [their] country” and along the way reveals his own journey to becoming a global citizen.
A sense of accomplishment is invaluable to a person. Not only does a sense of accomplishment build confidence and faith in oneself, but it also allows one to reflect on how wonderful the journey to the accomplishment was, and how every little struggle and triumph was worth it. In the middle of summer, where time seems endless and the stress of the previous school year has been shed by students, I never expected to find out that I scored a five on both of the advanced placement exams I took. Nor did I have one-hundred percent confidence the goals we set as section leaders of the marching band would actually be met. Yet to my surprise, I had the good fortune of accomplishing challenging things in both aspects of my life.
