Were Romeo and Juliet old enough for their relationship? Romeo and Juliet is a famous play written by Shakespeare about two star-crossed lovers. Until the end of the book, Romeo and Juliet’s love for each other was prominent. However, when Romeo makes some poor decisions, he is banished from Verona and is sent away. This leads to Juliet pretending to kill herself so Romeo can return, then Romeo killing himself because he assumes Juliet is dead.
Juliet does not want to marry him, so she desperately goes to the Friar for help. There, he gives her a vial that will put her to sleep long enough for her family to think that she is dead, and bury her. At that same time, the Friar sends a letter to Romeo telling him the plan. The vial works, but Romeo does not get the letter in time due to the plague. Romeo buys poison and drinks it next to Juliet’s body.
In times of tragedy, people look for answers and someone to blame. This is the case in William Shakespeare 's Romeo and Juliet. The character, Friar Lawrence who was a trusted man of the cloth, allowed the two young protagonists Romeo and Juliet from opposing families to get married. Then later in the novel, he created a plan with the hope of the two lovers being together after they were separated by a tragic event, but ended with the two killing themselves. Being so, Friar Lawrence is the cause of the tragic ending in Romeo and Juliet, as he agreed to marry the two lovers without their parents permission, and devised a plan that ended with the lovers suicide.
He then performs the marriage of Romeo and Juliet and even fabricates a foolish plan to keep them together when Juliet is forced to marry Paris. He also leaves Juliet alone in the tomb after she awakens to find her beloved Romeo dead. Friar Lawrence is a moral man, but his hubris leads to the death of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo considers the Friar someone he can confide in, and he tells the Friar of his newfound love for Juliet. The Friar’s excessive pride allows him to agree to wed Romeo and Juliet, hoping he can bring the Montagues and Capulets together, though these families hatred spans generations.
Their love is forbidden because of a rancor between their families. As they arrange a marriage behind everyone’s back, everything seems to be testing them; including a fight that broke out and ended in Tybalt’s murder and Romeo being banished from his hometown, Verona. Juliet could not go without being with her love, Romeo, and quickly had to find a way to be with him before her other marriage that her father arranged for her took place. As the friar arranges a plan for the two star-crossed lovers to reunite, things don’t work out the way they’re supposed to and end in the deaths of both characters. In Shakespeare’s, “Romeo and Juliet” Friar Laurence is to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths because he is devious and has a poor planning ability.
“Impulsive actions led to trouble, and trouble could have unpleasant consequences”,(Stieg Larsson). The story of Romeo and Juliet is about two lovers from opposing family this cause problems for them. They met at the Capulet party where Romeo Juliet both fall in love with one and other. Juliet had asked Romeo to marry her and they impulsively married within meeting. Romeo murdered one of Juliet’s family members after he had killed Romeo close friend this cause Romeo to implusly kill him in anger. After that he was banished from his homeland, Juliet is forced to marry and the two lovers found out that both supposedly died so they both commit suicide.
This first takes off when Romeo and Juliet fell in love with each other and having the desire to go get married. Since their parents are enemies this makes it super difficult and hard to live life together, if they are seen together Romeo could be killed. This sets up the fear of being seen together and them needing to keep their marriage secret. Romeo being banished set up a bigger barrier between him and Juliet. Juliet doesn’t want to get remarried and taking a sleeping potion that was given to her by Friar.
A Montague killed a Capulet so this increases tensions in the situation which is then last thing that they need right now. As a punishment Romeo gets banished and Juliet has mixed feelings about the death of her cousin and Romeo's banishment. “ Shall I speak ill of his that is my husband?/...Where is my father and my mother Nurse?” (3.3 106-138) She is torn and eventually is more upset about Romeo's banishment which is crazy to “pick” someone that you’ve just met over your family. Juliet is torn and needs Romeo there with her so the Nurse says that she’ll get him to her that night. They do get together that night and then Romeo has to leave Verona. While Romeo is out of Verona Juliet is forced to make marriage arrangements with Paris.
This soliloquy was the climax of the story because once Romeo kills himself, there is no going back to the way things used to be. The meaning behind the passage is Romeo thinking that Juliet is having an affair with death because of how alive and well she looks even though she is “dead.” Therefore Romeo wants to do his now late cousin a favor and kill himself to basically avenge Tybalt’s death. Shakespeare uses dramatic irony in this passage to create the tone. All of the audience knows that Juliet is going to wake up and is most likely seconds away from waking up. However, Romeo does not know that and therefore is going to Juliet’s tomb to kill himself with her.
