What Dominican people tend to eat depends Highly on which area they live, whether in the interior mountains or near the sea. Since most of Dominican dishes evolve in pork, pigs are heavily farmed in most areas of the islands. They have a tradition of stemming from the lesser availability of refrigeration, Dominican restaurants tend to cook or stewed meat dishes very well.
Dominican dishes are known to be filling and practical. They love their rice and pork dishes and different types of seafoods. On the whole Dominican food, they are not cooked fairly plain. They cook their food with a lot of spices, the spices that are generally used to flavor their dishes are yucca, annatto, oregano, allspice, clavo, aniseed, nutmeg, canela and sal en grano.

Their coffee ranks as one of the world’s number one. Most Dominicans are taking it in small doses literally smothered in sugar – this is called a café cito. Fresh tropical fruits are also very popular here. Their favorite beverages include banana mama’s, coco loco and other tropical drinks.
The Dominicans also drink a pear, pineapple, and rice concoction called pera pina while orange, milk, and sugar is mixed to form morir sonando. Beer is regularly consumed, including the local favorite, "Presidente," while rum is the most common hard liquor, which is best tried in a drink called mamajuana. Mama Juana is a mixture of bark and herbs left to soak in rum, red wine and honey. Mamajuana is the indigenous drink of the Dominican Republic.
The water is not perfectly safe all over Dominican Republic since 38.4% of water systems have no chlorination system installed. Almost all of the people living in rural areas have limited access to clean water.

One of the most popular dishes in El Salvador is sopa de pata. Sopa de pata is soup with cow’s feet, tripe, yuca, chayote, sweet corn, onions, and bananas. In El Salvador it is eaten most commonly as an appetizer, but some people eat it as a meal. A pupusa is a very common dish in El Salvador, made from a thick corn tortilla.
Although In more developed cities, the citizens forgo these traditional wear for a more western style. Not only are our clothing very expressive, so is our food and taste. ▸ The Food: Guatemalan food has to be one of my favorite foods ever. My mom’s cooking is the best. Many Traditional Guatemalan foods are based on Mayan Cuisine, which features ingredients like corn, chilies, and beans.

The Dominican Republic Introduction The island in which the Dominican Republic now stands was originally known as Hispaniola. The native people of the island, called Taino, split up the island into five territories. Each territory also held one chiefdom within in. When Christopher Columbus was sailing the world in 1492, he claimed the eastern half of the island.
I had the grand honor of being born into a culturally diverse family. Although Dominican culture dominates our customs, we are 25% Middle Eastern from Lebanon, and 25% Spanish from Barcelona, Spain. The cultures have all laced into each other in such a way that I find it utterly ordinary to eat Arabic food while listening to Dominican music while serving Spanish desserts. My parents came to America at around the age that I am now, met each other, and my mom had my first sister at 18 while my father was 22. My mom went back to high school to finish her GED while my father enrolled in an institution that he never got around to finishing because his english was not well.
Climate Dominican Republic is a tropical, maritime nation. Conditions are improved-quality in much area by upgrading and by the northeast trade winds which steadily blow from the Atlantic. The annual temperature was higher than the regional temperature. Temperature rarely rise above 32oC (89,6oF) and the highest mountain freezing temperature befalls only in winter season. From the month of January the typical temperature in Santo Domingo is 24oC (75.2oF) and 27oC (80.6oF) in the month of July.
Another popular food they eat is called Mangu dominicano it contains Plantains,meat,eggs,vegetables, and they put other things if they decide to such as spices. They mainly eat it at lunch because that’s one of the most important meal of the day. Merengue Festival is one of the most popular festival’s in the Dominican Republic in July 26-31 which they dress up and dance with a partner as they shake their hips rapidly to their music. Baseball is one of their most favored sport by far in the Dominican Republic. The dominican Republic has the second-highest number of baseball players in Major League Baseball.
Quinceaneras in Dominican Republic are more traditional than other countries. The celebration starts with a mass in a Catholic Church. This is important in their tradition, because the girl is receiving her blessing from the Lord. After the mass the rest of the Quinceanera is more enjoyable. The celebrant is accompanied by fourteen pairs of people and has her own escort.
Hispanic Culture vs. American Culture Culture, as defined in Jon Shepard’s Sociology textbook is defined as an act of behaving or thinking, beliefs, custom, and arts in a particular society. In todays society there are many different cultures, while some are the same there are many different aspects that make each culture unique and diverse in their own way. Between the American and Hispanic culture there are many differences, but there are also similar traits as well. Whether its food, religion, language, politics, sports, family, holidays, or fashion; Americans share some of the same behaviors as Hispanics.

Those from the past generation help influenced the way that we live and the food that we eat. Popular and national dishes in Jamaica are jerk, plantain, curry goat, and rice and peas. Jamaican cuisines are usually flavored with spices such as nutmeg, ginger, and pimento. Many of the meals are accompanied by a bread called yucca. Since Jamaica is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, seafood such as lobster, shrimp, and fish are interpreted into meals. Fruits are also plentiful in Jamaican food culture due to its tropical climate.
