Don’t worry, none of this is offensive, Trump says, because he “loves the Mexican people” and “the Latinos love Trump.”
January 20th 2017 marked the day that president elect Donald Trump took his oath to office. Perhaps one of the most controversial electoral processes in the history of the United States’ presidency, the possible implications of Donald Trump’s leadership will most likely make this one for the history books. His speech seemed surprisingly reasonable, astonishingly efficient, and very impactful in comparison to what many were expecting from him, because of the negative and possible detrimental image he has created in the minds of many Americans. Regardless, Donald Trump delivered a strong, decisive speech using unifying diction, well directed symbolism and varied syntax.
In one of Trump’s speeches he began it by comparing Mexican immigrants to “rapists” and “killers”. From there he tweeted about running candidate Jeb Bush’s wife about her began Mexican. One of his tweets says” #JebBush has to like the Mexican
In the rhetorical key ethos, fallacies affect the credibility of the speaker’s issues or ideas based on how they feel on the subject. In the rhetorical key pathos fallacies overuse emotion to gain support for an idea or action. In the rhetorical key logos, technically all fallacies are logical abuse because for the most part fallacies are unethical. Trump just happens to be full of fallacies. As stated again and again in this essay Trump has referred to Mexican immigrants as job stealers but an actual fact he has left out is that he himself has employed 1,100 foreign immigrants. Whilst announcing his candidacy Trump boasted about how he is going to be the best jobs president ever born “However, according to a Reuters investigation into a U.S. Department of Labor recent release, Trump-owned companies have applied for 1,100 foreign work visas” (Board). All candidates have told little white lies some more than others another candidate with fallacies is Democratic candidate Hillary
At a time when immigration laws are becoming a nation wide debate and have been for years, Trump works to convince his audience that stronger immigration laws should be placed. He does so by first describing the neighboring country of Mexico as “they are not our friend, believe me” ("Full Text: Donald Trump Announces a Presidential Bid."). From the very beginning, this line installs fear into the audience. It leads the audience to feel insecure in their own home country creating an uneasy tone. He then further sparks that fear by saying that “they’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people”("Full Text: Donald Trump Announces a Presidential Bid."). By generalizing/stereotyping all immigrants as criminals and rapists, this conditions the audience to fear them. Trump uses his stereotypical description of immigrants as a scapegoat for the nation’s drug and crime problems, and the audience is easily wooed. Trump describes the immigrants as “they” and the audience as “you”. This along with his descriptions creates a clear cut distinction between the citizens and immigrants, creating a fear of the unknown. He then goes on to say, “ we have no protection and we have no competence, we don’t know what’s happening” (“Full Text: Donald Trump Announces a Presidential Bid."). This statement further instills fear into the audience as they now have a feeling of helplessness in their own country. Also, by saying ‘we’ this unites Trump with the crowd. This establishes Trump as a typical American who shares the same fears as the audience does. However, he keeps his macho businessman persona on by not being restrained by political correctness. He promises to put a stop to immigrants and to fight
The 2016 Presidential Election was one of the craziest events in United States history. Obviously, Donald Trump won and it affected millions of people, whether it was in a good way or a bad way. In the article, “Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address Was Great”, by James Poulos, Trump was considered to be “great and logical” (Poulos). However, in the article, “Don’t Believe the Populism of Trump’s Inaugural Address. Our President is a Plutocrat”, by Ryan Cooper, Trumps is considered to be a terrible person, and he does not to deserve to be president. Although both articles have valid views, Cooper’s article was more logical and realistic.
After reading many articles discussing the situation between Donald Trump and the 11 million immigrants in America and trying to understand both sides of this issue, I strongly believe Trump and his insane idea will not be successful.
Trump has just been elected as the 45th President of The United States of America. He is known for his hatred to ethnic minorities and his ability to create the dislikes to them among the American people is what made him such a dangerous choice for especially the Mexicans. He has an ability to unify the country through hate.
The 2016 presidential election results were shocking to many. Donald Trump, the newly elected president, had a surprising victory that has left many fearful for the future. He made many troubling promises during his campaign (building a wall, for example) that could be detrimental to the United States and other countries. Trump also verbally attacked and insulted other candidates and politicians during his campaign. Donald Trump is unfit to be president, because he has no political experience, frequently makes inappropriate comments about others, and often ignores proven facts in order to make his arguments.
USA today's editorial talks about the reasons that Trump is unfit to be the President of the United States. Trump is perceived as reckless, sexist, prejudiced, and not solid for combat terms. His erratic contradicting speeches show signs of inconsistency and prove wrong to be president. USA
Today, the person who takes center stage in almost every news station is President Donald J. Trump. Democrats and republicans alike are at each other’s throats over this heavily debated topic: Does President Trump deserve to be president? Those on the far left have taken drastic measures to undermine his presidency. Some of those measures have caused people all around the country to believe that the second American revolution is upon us.
As Donald Trump was the one who inspired the two men to attack the homeless man, many people chose to blame him for what they did. Even though, Donald Trump had said his followers are just passionate for this country, he did not force or threat the two men to beat and urinate the homeless man. The two men chose to do it for no good reason, but, yet people accuse Donald Trump for this problem. The two men should be ones blame for their own action since they found nothing but, pleasure leaving bruises and broken bones to a innocent homeless Latino man. They should be the ones to blame from their own fighting and admitting that it was their fault. Beating another human being is becoming such a common thing in today’s society, where it is easy
We live in a society where there's no faith in humanity. We all thought that racism would disappear and everyone would be treated equally but here we are now where Donald Trump is the president and what could we worse expect other than our society and generation to get more racist, equality to decrease and much more worse things to happen in our next generation. Donald Trump is an example of how racism is still evident and still exists in todays modern society. Someone in such a high authoritative position who is blinded by the “white privilege” that was stated in the White Privileges: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack by Peggy McIntosh. He realizes the so call advantage he may have compared to people in other races and gender spectrums and say such provocative, inappropriate comments in the media. For example he had made a comment about building a wall between Mexico and the USA because all Mexicans are rapists and criminals. This is the same man who had targeted females and said such vulgar comments towards them. In other words the outcome of the election that Donald trump was elected president was a wake up call. After all the comments he had made by being racist and sexist, he still had a huge amount of supporters. Which is evident that racism still exists
For many Americans, Trump is seen as the long-awaited saviour of the nation. Others see him as the man to start World War III.
As we reach the 21st century we would think that racial inequality has completely ended yet we continue to see much discrimination. Racial inequality continues to exist in the world and here in the United States it is a very controversial topic. Today, we watch the television and almost everyday we hear news about some type of crime or situation which regards race issues. In other words, racism is still a topic that we experience in a daily basis and continues to haunt this country. By analyzing some recent racial inequality news we can find out what continues to make this issue such a controversial topic. Two recent news regarding racial discrimination is the controversial Mr. Donald Trump and his comments regarding Mexicans and also a recent strike held at many Universities around the United States protesting about discrimination at their schools.
