Dragline Mechanism Essay

1083 Words5 Pages

Dragline mechanism is simple, as the drag cable pulls the bucket across the ground surface the bucket weight and teeth produce the digging action. The position of the drag chain attached to the bucket affects the digging action. The angle in which the bucket enters the soil is related to the point of attachment, the higher the point the deeper the angle. Throughout the swinging and hoisting action, materials in the bucket are reserved by forcing tension on the dump cable. As the force is released in the drag cable, the tension force is distant from the dump cable allowing the release of the materials. Whereas dragline is a very versatile excavator, it affects neither the digging action nor the lateral control of the shovel positively. Buckets …show more content…

2- Scale the height (H) and the width (W) of the pile. 3- Take the length of the parallel pile and the blade in consideration then measure it (L) 4- Applying the equation and calculating the blade load Blade Load (Lm3) = 0.375*H (m)*W (m)*L (m) Job Management: Downhill dozing, slot dozing, and blade-to-blade dozing are procedures that can be applied to increase the dozers production. For example we can take a gravity force as a benefit when we want to increase the dozer production by applying the downhill dozing technique because it increases the load and decreases the cycle time. Also slot dozing technique can raise the production of the dozer up to 50%. This technique leaves uncut section between slots and that’s why it is used in huge excavation cuts. Blade-to-blade dozing allows two dozers to work together but is not good in short distance because in that case too much time is required. Loaders: Loaders, also known as bucket loader are machines used in excavations and moving construction materials. - There are two main types of loaders: 1- Both wheel loaders 2- Track …show more content…
