Introduction
Droughts are caused usually caused by lack of precipitation and high temperatures but it is also caused by overuse of the land and overpopulation as there is a high demand for water and eventually the demand is higher than the supply which cause a drought.
A drought is when an area is receiving less rainfall than usual which causes a number of problems such as lack of water.
A perpetual drought is a drought that is either permanent or repeatedly occurring.
Economic growth is defined as the increase or decrease in the amount of goods and services produced per person over a period of time. A good is something you can use or consume for example: food, books, stationary, car or cloths. A service is something that someone does for

Another problem which is caused by droughts is that china main uses of energy for power, after coal is hydroelectric. With the drought there is a shortage of water which would cause a lack of power in some areas. In Guangxi, in 2004 there was a severe drought which caused a “massive power losses due to lack of water for hydro power generation.” Without power, it would cause a big problem when it comes to make goods as machinery needs power, without is economic growth is reduced.
If china had a drought before it’s possible for it to happen again. If there is another drought it would affect the whole world as china exports a lot of goods to the rest of the world. Having all of these problems caused by droughts happen again would affect the whole world, not only there will be less food exported from china but it will import more therefore there will be pressure on the whole world as there is less food going around.
Due to the increase in global warming this would cause droughts, a possible solution would be to prepare for a possible drought. For example save excess water, recycle water that has being use in industries for example to cool down the machines, instead of dumping it into the ocean and wasting it or china could use desalination to use as clean water to drink and use for sanitary uses and they rest is used for industries and agriculture. This would help them balance out the water sources and what it’s used for, this could help prevent a drought being such a big problem and effecting the whole
So many lands, farms, fields of fruits and vegetables are gone because of the drought. All this happened because of a shortage of water from once green and healthy crops to dead dry brittle crops that are abandoned by a drought. For example, we had to cut back on watering my lawn and it went from a green lawn to a dead lawn, because of cut backs. Mat Wiser said that, “ Water will become one of the defining limits to human development and a compound factor in human misery,”(2009 Wiser). If we don’t have water we will die faster without water than food, we can’t be greedy on something that we thrive and survive
Fifth Favorite Essay out of Top Five “Everglades’ Change in Environment” made my top five because I had many different types of information on the Everglades and I supported each reason by using explicit textual evidence. Although my conclusion was only a couple of sentences, I think that it summed up the whole essay perfectly. Everglades’ Change in Environment The Everglades is a national park found in Florida filled with swamps, trees, and wildlife. The Everglades is full of life, but it is now facing a drought which has eroded the original wetlands by 50%.
We typically do not give much thought to what we call “home”. We perceive home as somewhere we go after a long day, somewhere we can enjoy the simpler pleasures in life away from the restlessness of work. However in The Droughtlanders by Carrie Mac, it challenges our general notion of home for an unorthodox one—a notion that a home goes outside of comfort zones, rather than inside them. At face value, the Keys have everything: it is rich, secure, and organized. But by glimpsing outside its walls, we discover that those qualities can bring more problems than we see at first glance.
The dust bowl was one of the most tragic event that ever happened in united states history it caused a lot of damage to a lot of states and impacted a lot of american lives. The dust bowl caused families to leave homes and families to go hunger on this tragic event. In april 18, 1935 a huge black cloud piled on western horizon which caused a big impact on people´s home. The dust bowl was mainly caused by drought, disappearing of a root system, And the mechanics of farming these are the main sources that caused the dust bowl and Impacted the tragic event towards american lives.
“The impact is like a shovelful of fine sand slung against the face” (Carlson). There have been numerous impacts on the United States that made the nation turn into a disastrous place. One of the various effects during the Great Depression was the Dust Bowl. The Dust Bowl affected countless crops in the farmers’ fields, but the Great Depression itself limited the amount of crops that the farmers could plant (17 Interesting Facts). The name of the Dust Bowl was given due to the tremendous amount of dust storms that were occurring so often.
The drought’s direct effect is most often remembered as agricultural, many crops were damaged by deficient rainfall, high temperatures, and high winds, as well as insect infestations and dust storms that accompanied these conditions. This caused many migrant workers to not be feed, as the food source was very limited. In conclusion these three events play a huge role in
These could range from education to becoming more Earth friendly. We can reform education in many ways. We can first start off children with more difficult curriculum in lower grades to get them more prepared for harder and more important subjects. Another way to reform in the classroom is to provide better teachers who will ensure that every student will learn what they are supposed to. We can be more Earth friendly by making more houses use solar power.
The affected regions could not recover from the previous drought before the next drought hit which made it feel like one long drought that just progressively got worse. The last drought didn't even end until 1940.The drought made it harder to harvest the crops the farmers needed to support themselves financially, so the economy declined dramatically. This was also one of the leading causes of the Great
The drought got to a lot of the states and it did not turn out good at all. The big drought toke one third of the great plans. According to 4, the drought did not cause the black blizzards. Every 25 years it will happen and it is not good.
This would lead to conflicts for resources and possible shortages that would harm the population. Finally, the increase in heat waves and droughts would have a huge impact on agriculture and water availability as it will be difficult to produce crop and clean water to meet the demand of the population. This would also lead to shortages of food and water, affecting many
We can clearly see a pattern of droughts throughout history in the United States. There is no way to control this, droughts happen all over the country, especially in the Great Plains, but we have never and most likely will never see a drought or dust storm as severe as the dust bowl. In the 1930s unusually cool temperatures were occurring in the Pacific. This created a very dry climate across the United States, which was especially bad in the Great Plains.
Jamestown should have been called Jamesdown, because of all of the colonists that died from 1607-1611. There were over 100 colonists that died in Jamestown. There were three major things that led to the deaths of the Jamestown colonists. They were: starvation, lack of people to fill occupations and drought. The Jamestown colonists didn’t bring enough food.
It is true that there are factors contributing to China’s water scarcity, such as Global warming, Water pollution and Industrialization but if China does not tackle this situation now or it will spell D.A.N.G.E.R.O.U.S. However, the three biggest causes of China’s water-scarcity crisis are Global warming, Water pollution and especially Industrialization. It is up to China's government, economic and political group to fix this problem. Can they do it or can
INTRODUCTION Economic growth is defined as the increased capacity of an economy to be able to produce goods and services in comparison from one period of time to another. This is figured by the genuine Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and development, and is measured by utilizing genuine terms such as “Balanced Inflation”. These terms help to remove any distorted views on the perceived outcome of inflation on the cost of merchandises produced. Likewise, Economic growth is related to the high expectations in a person’s standard of living. If the standards are high, it wouldn’t be beneficial for the economy as the working class individuals will face a lot of trouble.
