Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in the year of 1890. Before being president, he was the U.S. Army chief of staff and commander. Eisenhower had many years of military experience. He was elected as president in 1952 and served until 1961. He became the 34th President of the United States. Eisenhower accomplished so much during his years serving as President. For example he created the U.S Information Agency, supported Interstate Highway Systems and he got Alaska and Hawaii to be states. However, he then decided to retire in the year of 1961 and died eight years later. Eisenhower’s Farewell speech was broadcasted on national television and everyone heard what Eisenhower had to say. Most people were shocked by some of the things he spoke about.
Eisenhower was a man with many accomplishments. He intensely campaigned for world peace after conducting the D-Day invasion in Normandy. Dwight D. Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas to Davis Jacob Eisenhower and Ida Elizabeth Stover Eisenhower as their third son. He was stellar in sports, playing baseball and football at Abilene High School. After graduating in 1909, Eisenhower worked at the Belle Springs Creamery with his uncle and father, as well as moonlighting as a fireman.
The precedents that Washington set were the greatest of all, but the best examples he mentioned were critical to America. Washington was the first president of the United States. He had served two terms, and warned future presidents not to run for a third term. He believed it would make citizens believe that the government is in power; but truly, the states and people are in control. Based on George Washington’s observations, he warned the people to stay united, stay neutral, and follow the constitution, in order to keep the U.S. stable.
George Washington made a bold decision for his Farewell Address to be an open letter of advice and warning to the American people for their long-term pleasure and security. Washington himself spoke of a nation with great unity. He had faith in the prosperity of the citizens, but was weary of the dangers of such a young republic. The overarching theme of his address was the preservation of the union. During this, we warned against the dangers of sectionalism and claimed that the connection between the Union and the Constitution must be cherished.
On March 15, 1965, Lyndon Baines Johnson addressed a joint session of Congress to urge the passage of the Voting Rights Act and outlined his plans for supporting voting rights. That meant that racism was going on and many people were being unequally treated.
Lou Gehrig’s speech, Farewell to Baseball Address, delivers an emotional punch to the gut as he explains about how lucky he is to have had a wonderful life with some amazing people. He states “I might have been given a bad break, but I have much to live for,” infers his will to live. Because of his positive standing with his fans and many other baseball players, Gehrig was able to utilize effectively ethos throughout his speech. Ethical proof is dependent upon the rhetor’s reputation among his audience and other people; for Gehrig, his reputation was one of a hard-working and determined man and so his audience already held favor with Gehrig.

In January of 1953 president Eisenhower gave his first inaugural address to the citizens of the United States. Two foreign and two domestic policies will be analyzed in this paper. The policies were talked about in the inaugural address. This will show president Eisenhower's policy plans for his first four years in office.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office through one of the most challenging times in American history; the great depression. This was a time when jobs were lessening and the country was in need of a boost. Being our president, many people look up and rely on the actions of him. In this specific time, President Roosevelt needed to put himself in the position of a fellow American citizen as well as remain his leadership role as president. To give the country the little boost of positivity, President Roosevelt constructed his broadcast that aired on October 22, 1933.
President Eisenhower, in his address to the country, more specifically the people of Arkansas, discusses the inevitable situation involving racial segregation occurring in Arkansas. Eisenhower’s purpose is to convey to the country that he will fight to preserve the decision that the Supreme Court came to on racial segregation. He adopts a personal tone in order to convey to the people of Arkansas that he understands how they feel in this situation. After establishing that he will do whatever is necessary to protect the rights of the students and connects with the Arkansas people by addressing the fact that his decision wasn’t based on his personal beliefs, Eisenhower shifts his focus to validating the citizen’s feelings of anger and feeling slighted. Eisenhower through logically crafted arguments asserts that he will use his powers to ensure the students’ rights aren’t withheld.
This mini project paper analyses the approaches used by the President Barack Obama in his inauguration speech which he delivered on 21ST January 2013. The study focus solely on the approaches used by Barack Obama to deliver his ideology as the President of the United States of America to get the public to be acquainted with his administration agenda moving forward to strengthen the democrats in the inauguration speech rhetorically. The discourse analysis was carried out based on the video recording of the inauguration speech delivered by President Barack Obama in 2013 which was then uploaded in YouTube and the findings of this research will be presented in textual analysis along with review of related studies.
