3.2 Dynamic planning and control methodology (DPM): Dynamic Management: The Dynamic Progress Method (DPM) is a new approach to planning, estimating, and managing projects that builds upon the increased power now found in personal computers, applying a different type of model and managements (Operational & Strategic) than that are currently being used in most tools.

For example, the important requirement of strategic project management is the ability to represent the overall project behavior, caused by different decisions (e.g., if overtime is applied, how does it affect a worker’s productivity and further, how does the project progress proceed), while the important requirement in operational project management is the detailed analysis about low-level operations (e.g., if the number of workers are increased for concrete work, how can they be allocated in order to achieve maximum productivity). Hence the sharing of information quickly and reliably and finding of the real-time applications for the on-site solutions to problems so as to contribute and facilitate the smooth transactions among different participants involved in the organizations (i.e., subcontractors). Furthermore, as the project frequently take place at varying geographically distributed places, quick and reliable information sharing becomes most critical than ever. So as to address these issues, DPM is developed in the web-based platform where easy and real-time information access will be implemented without much restrictions. The web-based DPM aims at providing easy access for all involved parties without the need for a special software installation on local computers. DPM also supports the application of multiple devices such as PCs, PDAs, and Java-enabled phones with both wire and wireless networking connections. This helps in terms of helping different types of devices and networks would help in improving the construction productivity. In many cases, construction sites do not have desktop computers or wire connections.
