It is estimated, for example, that today’s global smoking population stands at one billion, approximately half of whom will experience health problems or premature death as a result of their exposure. Even though electronic cigarettes (e-cigs) have been around since 2004, it’s still slightly jarring to see someone smoking indoors when cigarettes are mostly banned from enclosed public spaces. That’s just one example on how e-cigs have shaped the way we view smoking.
E-cigarettes are battery powered devices that vaporize a flavored propylene glycol or glycerin solution. Some liquids that are used for the device sometimes contain nicotine (BMC Medicine 1). E-cigarettes were introduced to North America in 2007. When it comes to the topic of e-cigarettes, most of us will readily agree that it’s not a cigarette at all due to the absence of combustions related toxins. Where this agreement usually ends, however, the question is whether the contents that makes up the liquid are safe. Whereas, a few are convinced that it does not contain any harmful chemicals to the body. Many people would assume that e-cigarettes can be allowed to smoke in public, but I believe that they are the same as regular cigarettes and
Are E-Cigarettes Healthier then Cigarettes I believe E-cigarettes are healthier than cigarettes, it might save a lot more live through the years. But some people think that E- cigarettes are very unhealthy and puts there heart and lungs in a lot of pain. People say that there cigarettes are better for you because they don’t burn off a battery and vaper chemicals. Although the effort to try and eliminate conventional smoking for good is obvious, the way some people go about this elimination is not as safe as they want to think. Among the abundant ways these people have tried to disregard the fateful habit of cigarette smoking, the one that has shown up progressively more throughout the years is the electronic cigarette. Since the electronic cigarette does not use burning tobacco as a means of getting their dose of nicotine, the unconventional cigarette is hailed as being much safer by several unknowing minds. While the electronic cigarette could be useful for stopping the use of the conventional cigarette, the damage this unconventional cigarette is capable of can be even greater than a regular cigarette
As I read this article, and continued my research on this topic, I have come to a decision. I disagree with the argument the electronic cigarettes will lead to the addictive use of traditional cigarettes. As more and more people purchase and use these electronic cigarettes, they become addicted to the artificial flavors of the e-juice and the nicotine, not the idea of traditional cigarettes. The multiple different flavors draw their attention, the nicotine is just the one thing they don’t pay as much attention to. They continue making new flavors that grab the attention of teens and young adults which is the reason more and more teens and young adults begin “smoking” electronic cigarettes.
“Big tobacco” claims this will help smokers quit. In reality, vaping is not a safe, or smart, alternative to traditional cigarettes. The cost of vaping is very pricey, even more pricey than that of a pack of cigarettes or other alternatives. The way americans are in society is like this; they always want the biggest and the best of anything.
Mosts if not all e-cigarettes work the same way. On the inside theres a heatng lemnet, battery and a cartirdge which holds nicotineas and other liiquids that provide flavoring. By providing the user with nictine, it elimnates cigareette smoke and provide the user with vapor instead.

Ever since their introduction into the market, electronic cigarettes have raised a lot of questions with the health community. Electronic cigarettes have been both credited as a potential tool for people against smoking and deemed a gateway for folks to begin smoking again. Either way, the main question is whether or not e-cigarettes are harmful to the health of those who use them. Since the introduction of electronic cigarettes, there has been a noticeable decline in the sale of traditional cigarettes.
This article written by Joe Nocera is a highly controversial topic within teens and young adults. The use of e-cigarettes has been scrutinized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a new found addiction. The CDC believes that e-cigarettes are just as dangerous as normal cigarettes and are a detriment to the public health. Throughout the paper, Nocera is illustrating to the reader that he is very one sided with his opinion. Necura believe that e-cigarettes are not harming the youth but acting as a diversion to smoking combustible cigarettes. Not only that but these machines are also causing a decline in the use of combustible cigarettes all around the world. To prove his argument the search for answers began, he knew that
Electronic cigarettes were first introduced into the tobacco market in 2003. However, in the last few years, electronic cigarettes have been trending, especially among high school students. According to the Surgeon General study, “In 2015, 1 in 6 high school students reported using e-cigarettes in the last month”. The promotion and production of electronic cigarettes is an issue that must be addressed because they are attracting minors who may have never been addicted to nicotine prior to the introduction of e-cigarettes in the market.
Have you ever noticed the increasing number of users of the electronic cigarettes? Electronic cigarettes (EC) use double every day. During my senior year in high school, I remember when the EC first came out into the market. I watched everyone trying it for the first time, both smokers and non-smokers. Some people thought that this was a safer way to smoke while others thought it was a great way for them quit smoking. The next day at school I saw teens, who had never smoked in their life, talking about it, and they wanted to try it. I knew that there was something wrong with electronic cigarettes, because everyone was ignoring its possible dangerous effects. When lunch time came, my friends and I were talking about the dangers associated with EC. One of my best-friends told us that he already purchased one. He went on to say that he tried it, and it was wonderful and tasty. He began to attempt at convincing us to try it, because he felt that it was safe.
