An Overview of the Potential Impact of E-Commerce on Nigerian Firms
The Purpose of this study is to improve the knowledge of E-commerce. Also to bring out the history of e-commerce and how it has developed over the years, and will look at the potential impact it will have in Nigeria and the current stance of e-commerce in different countries across the globe.

E-commerce has the ability to increase exponentially the productivity gains of an organization. It also has the potential impact to automate common processes such as logistics, sales, services, etc. In addition, because internet based can be used across any sector and firm, it is easy for it to be integrated into any value chain. In this environment, to succeed depends not only on competitive pricing, but also on sophisticated information links, forecasting capabilities and management systems (OECD, 2000). Nigeria has been seen as the fastest growing economy as regards to the telecommunication industry, as at June 2016 the telecoms industry contributed 9.80% to the country’s GDP which is a good increase from the 7.60% it was in 2014 (NCC, 2017). Even though less than 60% of the country’s population are active internet users, but what this implies is that there is still a growth expectancy of about 40% in the Nigeria internet
