On Friday, February 9th I arrived at the daycare at 9:35 and was greeted by the FD. The FD introduced me to some of the faculty members FOF and FTF, FTF had given me a tour of the room that I would be observing. I observed a class room that had 13 children in total but the room was divided into two groups, group “A” had 6 children led by FTF and group “B” had 7 children led by FOF. The children were mixed boys and girls and had children that ranged in age from 2 to 4. Group A had the younger children while group B had the
The movie Mean Girls is about a sixteen year old girl, Cady Heron, who has recently moved from Africa to the United States, and is attending public school for the first time. Her first day of school was not the best, but on her second day of school she meets Janis Ian and Damian Leigh who start to guide Cady into high school by telling her about different groups (cliques/discourse communities) in the school, including the Plastics, which is made up of Karen Smith, Gretchen Wieners, and Regina George. The Plastics soon take interest in Cady ask her to sit with them at lunch. Thanks to that we learn all about the discourse community of The Plastics. According to John Swales, there are six characteristics of a discourse community which I will discuss and use The Plastics as an example.
Thanks to the staff members of the school, I am able to operate confidently using the internet and Moodle as all lecture notes, class activities and assignments are posted on Moodle for students to excess. Comparing to secondary schools where we had to copy from the board and into our exercise books. The academic criteria for assessments and the amount of time spent in class in secondary schools is different from University. Students at the secondary level are always under strict supervision while at the University students have access to a bit of freedom but are expected to behave maturely. Students who lived with their families and go to school as day students in secondary schools eat fresh and healthy food at home and have privacy to their own rooms, bathroom and toilet.

Gatton believes that The point Gatto argument begin to emerge is that students are getting borned in school easily and also are the teachers. He talks about how Then he started to question “Do we really need school”? On page 684.Then he goes on to talk about how school is five days a week and nine months and twelve years. He talks about how students are not really learning they are just inputting information and then outputting it back to the teaches which is not learning. It’s not really funny, but when you are with someone who can always make everything funny, it is. We met on the first day of sixth grade. We sat next to each other in L.A, math, and science. She went to a different elementary school than me. We started talking, and became friends after that.

My name is Miguel Ramos and I am thirteen years old. I attend San Miguel Prepatory Middle School and am friendly and energetic. I think my family is pretty small because most of my family doesn’t live here in Washington D.C. My family is fun and mostly quiet. My mom and dad are both short and my brother is tall.
Based off the groups on our survey, I can think of a way each of them are portrayed in at least one aspect of the media off the top of my head. Immediately the movie Mean Girls comes to mind. When Cady arrives at the school, she is shown around and learns the ropes of school from her new friends. In the lunchroom we see many stereotypical groups including the “Smart Asians” doing their homework over lunch, dressed in a dress shirt and tie with a pocket protector.
Activity 1 Fallstaff elementary/ middle school was founded in 1985 and it’s a two story brick structure school. There is many windows located around the school and the shape is rectangular. The internal environment of Fallstaff is very warm and welcoming. When I first walk in I saw welcome signs, encouraging learning poster, and examples of how the students should dress. The school Philosophy is very evident and their mission of providing students with the concepts, the skills and training required to lead productive lives.
These differences are noted in most, if not all classes, including Dr.Ngezems English 1101 class. English 1101, is held at the Henry County High School. This is my second class of the day and it begins promptly at 10:15am in room 703. When I enter the classroom, I walk to the right and sit in the fourth seat in that row, then I place my bulky book bag to the right of my chair onto the tiled floor. I have one black and white striped folder that I use for the class, I take that out along with my black mechanical pencil and place it to the right of my grey desk
It was 1:00 pm when I arrived at Wanamaker Elementary School. Patiently I waited outside the door. When I was finally let inside the classroom, I was welcomed by a mixture of bright smiles and blank stares. Mrs. Stark then introduced me to the class of twenty third graders. After she introduced me to the whole class, I quietly made my way to the back of the class.
From the age 5-11 your child will attend primary school. This is the first form of education known as primary education. There will be one teacher responsible for the work and support staff also known as teaching assistants usually. These schools are normally local and within walking distance (your catchment area). They are normally mixed sex schools.
I worked as a PPCD aide for Shadow Glen Elementary in the Manor Isd district from March 21- April 22 under the supervision of Mrs. Clack-Jones the PPCD teacher. Our classroom setup was different than most, because our morning classroom consisted of 5-6 kids at a time, ages between 3-5. In the afternoon me and another aide were sent out to a Pre-k class to help out the Pre-k teacher. Both the morning teacher and afternoon teacher had different approaches to gaining the class’s attention. The morning teacher, Mrs. Clack used more than one method to gain the kids attention, since the children in her classroom were either Autistic or have Down syndrome.
