There are many different things that can impact students in their high school years. Whether these things are friends, activities, or the sports they participate in they all impact the student. Many opportunities are presented to students in high school, although not many impacts the student beyond high school, I believe this opportunity will impact me forever. I would love to be a part of the Early College Program this coming spring. I believe the program will do nothing but help me grow and strive to be a better student and continue being involved. This program membership will open new doors for me and make my high school and college experiences so much smoother. I think I will really benefit from having the college courses intermixed with my high school classes because I will be learning higher level information along with the high school work to challenge myself in Montco while having time in Pottstown High School to work on my electives. The program would keep me focused on …show more content…
I want to go into the field of business and management in the future, I do not know what specifically I would like to do in that field but with being in DECA and in MIS at Pottstown High School I know I am completely interested in that field of work. I enjoy being actively involved in clubs like DECA and NHS because I compete with others to be the best academically. I know I can take on this opportunity and get my college credits done early. In conclusion, I believe I would be a great fit for this program and will benefit now and later from it. I will use these college credits to get accepted into the college of my dreams after high school to pursue a career I will love for the rest of my life, I am beyond motivated to be the first person in my family to graduate from college and get into the field of my dreams. I aspire to be the greatness my parents and I know I can
Education is the key to success in life. This program will help me to achieve my long-term goals by strengthen my academic skills and exposing me to the college environment. The
I am writing to apply to become a certified instructor for the UConn Early College Experience (the “UConn ECE”). My background and qualifications make me uniquely qualified to be a certified instructor for the UConn ECE as I have Masters Degrees (CAPITALIZATION???) in both education and Special Education and in addition to my high school teaching experience I also have twenty years’ experience teaching history at Hillyer College at the University of Hartford. I am passionate about history, which I believe is more about the study of historical developments and trends rather than the memorization of dates and facts. My enthusiasm for history is most evident when I am teaching as demonstrated by my highly energized and animated lecture
The infamous answer to the question, “What is your primary goal for going to school?” is “to further my education, get a job, and be successful” such a cliché if I must say myself. My goal attending school is to make my family happy, as well as myself. In high school, I did not apply myself like I should have done because I was not sure if college was in my favor. Also, being the child of a single parent wanting to attend college seemed impossible, especially far from home.
Through this program I will get to know more of my peers that I might not always interact with. I can gain a better a knowledge of who they are. I will best serve as a member
An issue that could arise is a major adjustment in my study habits. Currently, my study habits may not be disciplined enough to achieve the grades I desire on a college level. Although this awakening might be harsh, it would force me to develop proper habits, preparing me for college two years in advance. Although the preparation that the Ohio State Academy would grant me is a strong reason to attend, the primary reason for my application is its intrinsic value. Although my high school offers a solid catalog of AP or CCP courses, the classes offered do not allow me to further my education in my fields of interest.
I believe that the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College would be an excellent venue to pursue my academic goals. I believe that the small campus and the student-to-teacher ratio will allow me to excel academically. One thing that stands out about the Honors College is that instead of majors being offered, “concentrations” are offered. The interdisciplinary curriculum provided at the Honors College would allow me to be exposed to various areas of study, while continuing to pursue my academic goals. Most importantly, concentrating in Law and Society would provide preparation for entrance into law
Once I got to High School joined a program at my school called Upward Bound Which is a college readiness program at my school. I attend South St.Paul Secondary where my teachers had recommended me to sign up for Upward Bound which is run by Trio. The trio is a program that is funded by the government to help children get prepared for college and all of the information they will
After my tenth grade year, I was undecided if I wanted to go to college. I knew about the Move On When Ready program, but was not sure I wanted to be on a campus with most everyone being older than me, at first I wanted to take online classes. I also had to make the choice as to where I was going to attend. Proximity to home, and familiarity with the campus and professors is what determined this decision. I passed the ACT, and after considering my options, I chose to attend Darton State College because it offered me many new opportunities and experiences, and was conveniently close to home.
It wasn’t until a doctor that I worked for saw my hard work and drive. He saw potential in me and encouraged me to return to school to receive my degree. He has a vision of his future business that includes me, and the only way that I can help him accomplish this vision is to do my part and get my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. That being said, here I am. My heart and mind had to be ready.
I first heard of the Trailblazer Collegiate Academy during my freshman year enrollment. The idea of taking college classes at a community college while still in high school was appealing to me because my current coursework took no effort to complete and I wanted a challenge. Once I was a sophomore, I began looking into it more seriously. If I wanted to apply for the Academy, I had a short window of time to do so. After discussing it with my counselor I learned that my classes I took with the community college would factor into my GPA at the high school level.
Maryland Park Service opportunity Wayne Wilson Career and Professional Development II Frostburg State University As I get closer to graduation I am deciding on what my goals and objectives are when I graduate from college. I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in General management. In the past I have been involved in peer tutoring and took part in activities with Phi Theta Kappa. I have also volunteered for the Allegany County animal shelter and local volunteer fire companies. I also have had two years of work experience with the Maryland Park Service as a seasonal ranger.
My future plans include going off to Utica College for nursing. I have known my major since I was five years old and my education that has been provided has only encouraged my decision. Even though I am going off into the medical field, my time spent playing sports, being in the drama club, national honors society, and participating in community has actually influenced my decision to do so. The mission statement to be educationally affective and academically effective has been shown through and through here at Little
Students will learn and comprehend the importance of college, which will motivate them to graduate high school and start their journey after. Knowing about all these things are important benefits that students will learn from attending and participating in these types of
Wayne County Community College is a focused yet disconnected box. This is understandable; a bulk of the students are older, more experienced, and already involved their field of choice moving towards a known purpose with little time to focus elsewhere. For an older student , this college could be the extent of their educational journey. However, for a younger student, this district is a transitional point rather than an end. Despite it 's stagnated nature, WCCCD has been a wonderful experience.
For my major, I am interested in marketing or a business degree on an international level. Acquiring this degree as my major, I am opening up the possibilities of other career choices if I decide that another subject will help me reach my goal of being connected with the outside
